California's 45th congressional district covers part of Riverside County. It includes the communities of Palm Springs, Moreno Valley, Palm Desert, Hemet, Cathedral City, Temecula, Blythe, Rancho Mirage, Murrieta, Indio, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Cabazon, Anza, Thermal, Idyllwild, Coachella, and other unincorporated areas of Riverside County. It is currently represented by Republican Congresswoman Mary Bono.

George W. Bush received 56% of the vote in this district in 2004; John Kerry received 43%.[1] The district voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger 65-31% in 2006,[2] Dianne Feinstein 51-45% in 2006,[3] Barbara Boxer 50-47% in 2004,[4] recalling Gray Davis 68-32%[5] and Schwarzenegger 60-24%[6] in 2003, and Bill Jones 52-42% in 2002.[7]
