Thanks for you comments on List of Saskatchewan general elections' featured list nominations page. You may be interested to know that the Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia equivilants are currently Featured List Candidates, and I would welcome your input. Tompw 17:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

While browsing through WP:FPC, I couldn't help noticing that you have several images in your signature. I hate to have to tell you this, but you probably should remove them; the guideline for signatures says that images should never be used in signatures. I know it seems pretty insignificant, but I thought I'd better warn you about this guideline before someone yells at you :) . Raven4x4x 07:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

You might want to go look at today's featured article. There is a very obscene image at the top, and it's been there for a while. Geekler A Segway Geek 01:21, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sam Houston dab

I can go along with the bullet points, but I think dabs look better sectioned. Since Sam Houston (disambiguation) is a bit sparsely populated currently, it is not clear how much better it looks spaced. Here are some better examples of how spacing makes dabs cleaner: Robert Johnson, Samuel Johnson (disambiguation), IMHO. Respond to my talk page before getting into an edit war. [edit] The Fish Portal

Hi, User:Melanochromis has done a great job getting the Fish Portal up an running. At this point, more sets of eyes can help make it even better. If you can offer some tips on the portal talk page about how to improve Fish up to "featured" quality, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rfrisbietalk 13:36, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battle.net

I noticed your recent edits to Battle.net. I understand the edits you made may be more correct in American English, they are not necesarily more correct in British English, and WP has a policy of leaving things that are correct in one locale. Personally, I don't care, and I'm only telling you because the Brit's can get pretty angry for changing these kinds of things. Good luck and have fun in WP! McKay 15:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] my userpage renovation

hi! thanks for taking time to drop by my page. and thanks for the help! id just like to have my userpage simply renovated. nothing really fanciful or overly sophistacated page pimpin' on my page is necessary. i just want to have my userpage to have a colored background, preferably black with white borders. normal texts is white and link texts to be red. i would also be great to have the subtitles/sections on yellow background. i guess thats just about it =] feel free to do it at your most convenient time.happy wikying! †Bloodpack† 01:10, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

wow, youre quick and good! thanks, and yes, i basically want the links to be red and then crimson red if the link is already visited, as for the other texts, just make them white. btw, can you just please remove my userpage title above? also i was referring to a yellow border for the titles/subtitles and not just a yellow text, and finally can you make the font courier? btw, iam also wondering why the page content on the upper left is excluded from the HTML coding? *phew* i know this is too much to ask, but really thanks again! †Bloodpack† 01:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks much for renovating my userpage ;] †Bloodpack† 02:27, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks to you too! really appreciate it. but after reviewing the preference i earlier gave you, black backgrounds doesnt look well so i changed it. now i tried to change the font colors on each subtitles and its contents but its gonna take too long to change each, is there a way to change them all (font colors) without affecting the user infobox and without having to change each font colors on each title and its contents? i mean, to change all font colors with just a single font color coding. and also, is there a way to change the page content too? i mean, its not affected by the "div style?" thanks for the time †Bloodpack† 22:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Just wanted to know..

Just wanted to know your views for archiving Hinduism talk page. To me, the archive had taken place just a day or two before and as per practice of contributory editors recent discussion is not archived so that we get views of all editors who log late. Thanks. swadhyayee 00:35, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Well I will say thank you for putting thought into the concern, yeah amazingly I just archived yesterday. The Hinduism talk page is one of the largest talk gatherings on Wiki that I know of. Basically we shouldn't archive for a while since some very important talk discussions are going on now and we don't want to lose them :D. Also I didn't know you are from West Bengal. Cheers! — Seadog_MS 00:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Don't fret about it — we all make mistakes[citation needed]. I signed you book also, Hey feel free to join the project...we are always in need of some great editors as we are kind of understaffed. [edit] Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Sd31415, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. You can support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

[edit] Thanks

I've been away a bit, so I haven't had a chance to thank you for your speedy aciton on my user page. I like what you've done but I'm wondering if you could at least give me a clue as to how to incorporate rollup sections within the page you've set out?--JAXHERE | Talk 02:28, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

That's okay. By rollup sections, do you mean show/hide sections? sign here HAPPY HOLIDAYS!s d 3 1 4 1 5 π 12:33, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, show/hidesections are exactly what I mean. I've seen them on some user's pages but I can't remember where right now.JAXHERE | Talk 12:44, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I've added the show/hide sections to your new user page. Do you like it? Happy editing! sign here HAPPY HOLIDAYS!s d 3 1 4 1 5 π 14:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the help, I've found a couple of other resources and will be playing around a bit to see what I can come up with. I really appreciate your assistance. JAXHERE | Talk 15:17, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for taking me on board :P, anyway I want all the current userboxes arranged a bit more neatly, as well as a bit of content on the user page, It looks kind of empty so whatever you think works, links to my talk page would be good from the UserPage, whatever you think makes a good userpage, I'm really not that fussy I just want it to look good. Thanks ScorpO 23:29, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good Userbox!

That's pretty good for a signature. You're getting into Wikipedia quite quickly. It's only been two months and you're already doing all this. Good job! -- Altiris Exeunt 04:54, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

It's great! All you have to do is create a template for it (ex: {{User Sig Collect}} This would be added with {{User Sig Collect}} ), like the "official" userboxes. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 10:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Portal peer review/Requests

Rfrisbie, I have created a new page that is transcluded to Wikipedia talk:Featured portal candidates in the nice little box titled "Current portal improvement collaborations". I am asking you to update the subpage when there are new collaborations (this is basically so users like me can also transclude the page onto our own user pages). Do you accept? Happy editing (and an early happy new year)! sd31415 (sign here) 17:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Looks good. At some point, I also hope we can "formalize" some type of collaboration/review process before folks nominate a portal. I think getting it's own complete page, loosely modeled after Peer review would help.

Rfrisbietalk 17:26, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

So a it will be a portal polishing page... hmm... not bad. This will eliminate a long WP:FPCAN page full of discussion instead of votes. So, are you creating the page? And will the collaborations be discontinued and instead the reviewers will be asked to watchlist the portal peer review page? (Sorry to interrupt your setup of 365 subpages of the religion portal.) sd31415 (sign here) 17:35, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

I made a comment at Wikipedia talk:Featured portal candidates#Portal improvement collaborations, but it hasn't gotten any replies. It probably would be better to start a new topic to find it easier. That's another item on my "real soon now" list, but since nobody was chiming in, I thought I would just do another thousand or so edits at the Religion portal while I waited.

If you want to start a new topic on the talk page, that would be cool. Otherwise, I'll do it sometime and volunteer a first draft to go with it. Either way is fine with me. Rfrisbietalk 17:45, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

I have started a new topic. Also, I have created a draft of the portal peer review page. Do you think it has potential? sd31415 (sign here) 18:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

It looks like a good start to me. One change I would make is the color scheme. All the Featured content pages were organized around the current colors for consistency. Rfrisbietalk 18:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. I guess you can tell blue is my favorite color. sd31415 (sign here) 19:01, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Mine too, but the rule is, "No matter what color you pick, someone will tell you to change it!"

Rfrisbietalk 19:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I am finished with the color scheme. Any other suggestions? sd31415 (sign here) 19:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

I have to visit the real world for a while, so I'll take a closer look later. Rfrisbietalk 19:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay. In fact, so do I (meaning next stop is Special:Logout). Happy editing! sd31415 (sign here) 19:11, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm spacing a bit and not tracking which page you used to start your draft, but I would have started with Wikipedia:Peer review. I then would have added an optional mock-up to transclude the same discussion on the portal's talk page with the corresponding to-do list. I'll wait to hear back on that. Rfrisbietalk 01:16, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I used Wikipedia:Picture peer review. Guess that wasn't a good idea. By your second suggestion, do you mean that I should add this in the instructions section?

  • Transclude Wikipedia:Portal peer review/ExampleName onto the portal's talk page under a header called Suggestions for Featured Portal Status. Include the suggestions in brief in a to do list on the portal's talk page.

Thanks for the suggestions. sd31415 (sign here) 01:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, something like that. If you would like, I can add some copy-and-paste code on that a little later. Rfrisbietalk 01:36, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! Whenever you get time. Happy editing! Image:SoleteRayosÑajo.gif (Oh, and I hope you know about the smi template, which has more smiley's.) sd31415 (sign here) 01:43, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, and yes, I know, The Transhumanist, ripped off "smiley" to start "smi"!

Rfrisbietalk 01:48, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I added a set of draft instructions below your draft. They are based on Template:PR-instructions. Rfrisbietalk 04:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! Hopefully other editors will support the portal peer review. Happy editing! sd31415 (sign here) 04:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

As a next step, I would like to consolidate the two drafts. I nominate you to take a stab at it.

Rfrisbietalk 04:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Sd31415. I'm ready to "go online" with the draft I proposed under yours. It follows the article peer review process, rather than the one for pictures. Is that okay with you? Rfrisbietalk 14:29, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Rfrisbie! Sorry for taking so long to reply. Thanks for all the work you've done! The article peer review process is okay with me. Thanks again! sd31415 (sign here) 15:49, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks! I already tried connecting Portal talk:Religion#Suggestions for improvements – Portal peer review, and it seems to work just fine!

Rfrisbietalk 15:53, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Great work! I made some few minor adjustments. I moved the TOC up into the top box so reviewers can quickly see what portals need to be reviewed. However, if you do not like it, you can change it. sd31415 (sign here) 16:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I just started with the basic rip-off from the article peer review layout. It uses transcluded instructions to keep them the same size and out of the "edit zone." That's why the TOC is below the instructions. Also, the "collaborations list" should be part of the instructions and moved/recreated as a PPR subpage. I though we could work on that from its new home. Rfrisbietalk 16:32, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Good job! I just created the redirect page, WP:PPREV. I also added the peer review page to the template {{Fpopages}}, so it will so up on other pages. I will create the collaborations subpage. Thanks for your guidance! sd31415 (sign here) 16:47, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Cool, I just made {{portalpeerreview}}. I'll make the "old" version next. Rfrisbietalk 16:51, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal Peer Review

Would you like to contact the other "collaboration" nominators and ask them to try out the PPR process? Rfrisbietalk 17:21, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I am contacting the people who wanted help with their portal as listed at Wikipedia:Portal peer review/Requests. sd31415 (sign here) 17:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, then I'm off to the movies!

Rfrisbietalk 17:34, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

I can delete the pages, but since you transcluded them, they won't show up on those previous pages in which you signed your username. I think it'll just show a time, and a red link for the page. Actually...do you transclude that page every time you sign, instead of actually doing the stuff in your preferences? Nishkid64 19:14, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Okay, done. =) Nishkid64 19:18, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
