[edit] deletion of 'starnet'

Hi

Can you elaborate on why you deleted my page on starnet. Starnet is a Gteko spinnoff which was bought out by Microsoft for 190 million so i dont understand how that can be blatant advertising.

Thanks

[edit] Template:Fb cl team

Hi Number 57. This template does assume that. It got the team's name and link from another templates located in Category:Fb team templates that also doesn't assume that. Regards. --ClaudioMB (talk) 19:50, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Abu Basma expansion

Greetings Number 57! Just wanted to drop by and say "great job!" with significantly expanding the Abu Basma Regional Council article and creating several new articles on the council's villages. I'm especially impressed with al-Sayyid btw. Anyhow... Keep up your great work as always! Regards, --Al Ameer son (talk) 03:49, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Eastbourne Borough F.C. player pages listed for deletion.

As it states in the subject, why are some of the players that the pages I have requested for up for deletion?

It states that are not professional athletes. Eastbourne Borough F.C. is not yet a professional football club, also not all information about these people has been publicised just yet. If you can allow me a few months to source more information about these people I will gladly add them. EddersGTI (talk) 19:29, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough, I do see your point there. EddersGTI (talk) 23:08, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] UEFA football leagues templates

Some users are renaming the Rep. of Macedonia to FYR Macedonia in the Top level football leagues of Europe; 2007-08 in European Football; 2008-09 in European Football templates. Please consider that this is official name of the domestic league not UEFA. If I'm correct please revert this edits. About the Starnet deletion. They just got bought out by IAC the owners of Ask.com, Match.com etc... I think the deletion was premature and unjustified and needs to be reimplemented. Please explain why the deletion happened as 13 million people think it's important enough to be a registered member and use on a multidaily basis... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.74.105.134 (talk) 06:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Mediation: John Howard

Hello. A request for mediation has been lodged for the John Howard article, concerning whether information about an incident between John Howard and Barack Obama should be included or deleted from the article. The link for the RfM is Wikipedia:Requests_for_mediation/John_Howard. The issue is still being discussed on the article talk page. Please go to the RfM page and list whether you agree or disagree to be involved in mediation of this issue. Thank you, Lester 01:44, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Multi-state

I saw on your userpage that you "believe in a multi-state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict." This is certainly something I've never seen before. What do you mean "multi-state"? What other states can there be besides a Jewish, an Arab (or a bi national) one? I'm only asking you this since it was on your userpage and I found it interesting. If you don't wish to discuss this matter, that's cool with me.Bless sins (talk) 04:45, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

That's an interesting solution. However, a couple of things should be noted. Though Kurds exist in Syria, Iran, Iraq and Turkey, only in the latter two countries have they any major separatist movements.
Also, I haven't seen the Druze enter into a conflict with either Muslims (Sunnis and Druze form the pro-Western coalition in Lebanon) or Jews (Druze serve alongside Jews in the Israeli military).
As for the Assyrians, their state would be far too small to be independent,[1] and would like be an autonomous region in an independent country.
Hey, what would you say to Middle Eastern federation of states (much like the European Union) that could unite the peoples of the Middle East, instead of dividing them?
Your thoughts?Bless sins (talk) 02:58, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2009 election

I was just about to create an article on the 2009 Malawian election; the purpose of adding it to the template was to give me a convenient link when I decided to do it. If red linked elections can't go in the template, why don't you delete all the red linked past elections? Everyking (talk) 04:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

So I can't make that link because one person made a decision for a reason you don't remember? Everyking (talk) 17:27, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
AFAICR, it wasn't my idea, but it was convincingly argued by someone who's since left Wikipedia that if we wanted to link to a future election in the template, we should at least know enough about the election to also create at least a stub on it... And I can see no good counterargument to that, personally. —Nightstallion 22:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I know enough about the election to write a stub on it, so that isn't a problem. Everyking (talk) 23:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Template:New Zealand elections

Please explain at the template talk page why you have removed content that is under discussion, and why you chose not to participate in that discussion. I'm also not at all sure what your edit summary is supposed to mean; how is the group number unused?-gadfium 08:32, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of David Dodd

It's not necessary to delete this article. Despite the fact that he hasn't yet played a game for Queensland Roar he has definately played senior team games for his previous clubs. And there's a very good chance he'll play a senior game for Roar when the season starts, which means all the work already done for his page will have to be redone. Besides, all players signed to an A-League club have their own page regardless of how many games they're played, due to the fact that because of the small playing roster of the A-League there's a very high chance they'll play at least one game in the upcoming season. Blackjanedavey (talk) 18:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok but what about the fact that he has definately played a senior game for his previous clubs (in a fully professional league)? Surely that means his page is valid. I just can't find the exact number of games because that information is not available on the internet. Blackjanedavey (talk) 14:21, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
He played for the Palm Beach Sharks in the Brisbane Premier League. This was before the Queensland State League, which was only introduced this year, so the BPL was the highest form of competition for footballers in the state of Queensland until this year. As far as I know, it is a fully professional league.

[edit] Vandalism

I want to report that User:157.228.x.x does not edit on a neutral point of view. I guess he is a Greek and the only thing he does is changing Republic of Macedonia to FYROM in every possible article. I am a Macedonian so I also may not see this on a neutral point of view so I leave it to you to decide. Please explain this situation as soon as possible. Isavevski (talk) 12:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bustan al-Marj towns

Thanks for creating the articles on Bustan al-Marj Regional Council's towns. I expanded ed Dahi somewhat. I was going to add some info on Kafr Misr, but it contradicted what the article already said. In the article it says Kafr Misr was founded by the Zoabi family of Ramtha, however the municipal site says "Some have lived in the area for hundreds and even thousands of years, others came to the village from Egypt in the beginning of the 19th century when the Egyptians captured the area for a while." and "In historical maps from 1799, the village was called "Mavela" which means beauty. The Crusaders called it "Kaphar Mazre" and, due to its unique fertile area and water supply, it became an agriculture center. Ancient locations in the village show the centrality of its role over years. It is located at a valley between two major mountains in the region: Mr. Dahei and Mt. Tabor."

I don't which one to believe. Could you add the source to the Zoabi claim? --Al Ameer son (talk) 23:13, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Football Notability

Question about Real Salt Lake player Tino Nunez. Obviously he does not have a profile as of yet, however it appears he has made 2 appearances for the club. These were in the US Open Cup, which I believe is equivalent to the FA Cup. The notability criteria (#2) states:

Have played in a competitive fixture between two "FPNL clubs" (in the FA Cup or League Cup, non-English equivalent, Continental or Intercontinental club competition).

Would this qualify? Proof of his appearances are as follows:

Please let me know if this is good.

Disregard, he literally just came into the MLS league match right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GauchoDude (talkcontribs) 02:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Israeli champion boxes

Relating to seasons 66/68, 93/94. why is it wrong/pointless? I only added it because its on any other season of any other league in europe. KradineerG (talk) 09:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello again, I got your answer and I agree, though its on every other league so it doesnt really matter.

Anyway, in Ligat ha'Al 2000-01 in the intro you listed the teams that got rrelegated in the same season unlike the other season pages and unlike the 'agenda' of not telling the user twice what he can see with the table. KradineerG (talk) 10:23, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

About relegation issue, if you write the teams relegated on the season then you need to write it on every season page.. same with the champion box, my thought from the beginning is that the season pages stay with the same structure.

you cant do this on 1 page and the other in another pages.

btw - thanks for all the clean ups, your doing a good job :) KradineerG (talk) 19:44, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Serie D

Only 3 years have been detailed here at wikipedia: 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08. Serie D goes back a lot further, but I think if we include all those seasons in the template, they will remain unreferenced. Thanks for helping me out. Juve2000 (talk) 15:55, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

thanks for the template, however, I prefer the current format to the one you used for Serie D and are pushing for in the Serie B template. Please explain why the smaller font size is better. I don't think saving a few lines on a page is a good enough reason. Juve2000 (talk) 18:23, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
If remember correctly, Serie A, B, C1 and C2 were all the same before you changed them all. Who else is using your format? Juve2000 (talk) 18:32, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Both examples you mention were templates created just one year ago, so I would not call them the standard by any means. I think you should bring up the issue on WT:FOOTY and stop reverting the editors want to change it back to the old format.Juve2000 (talk) 18:48, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Now you're just being a baby. I'm not gonna play this reverting game with you. I laugh when you change them all and then call it Standard. Bye bye.Juve2000 (talk) 18:59, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Codicote F.C. listed for deletion

Thanks for your diligent work, however I'd like to ask you to remove your deletion tag on the Codicote F.C. article. I would agree that Codicote unfortunately don't meet the notability guidelines at present, but ironically you have put that tag up in the very month that Codicote are expected to be accepted to the FA Vase for the first time in their history. I agree that's not conclusive proof, though I'll point out that even their official website ticker has the news up, and even if they are rejected, it just seems like the wrong decision to put a notice of deletion up right now when they are so close. I'd like to ask you to delay the deletion note by a month - by which time, we'll know if they are in the FA Vase or not. Falastur2 (talk) 23:21, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

No problem, glad to help out. And I'm not a member of TK, no. What's it about? Falastur2 (talk) 13:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Ahh, lol. Now wouldn't there have been some irony if I'd linked you to a thread you'd posted in. No, I'm not a member, an Altavista web search found that for me. I was just hoping to save the article since I hold a special place in my heart for Hertfordshire non-league sides - probably because non-league football interests me and I love Hertfordshire. I live about 5 miles away from Codicote, actually, if that, in Hitchin. But now that you say that about TK, I might drop by to read it more often. I'm not around enough to attend any games at the moment, due to being at University, and I was never into football as I am now before I left, which is the real reason I'm not actually a member of any non-league forums. Please explain your reasons for your modifications and moving of the page. Please also explain your reasons for your changes to the template. Do you have any knowledge to Tunisian Soccer!!

Just for you knowledge the offcial name of the Tunisian League is : "Championnat de la ligue professionelle 1" abriviated into CLP-1 therefor th template was correct.

[edit] Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 2006-07

I moved it to match the title of the main article: Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 as should be the case. If this article :title is wrong, please move it.
Also, do not mark my edits as vandalism. Doing so using Twinkle may result in your permission to use the tool being removed. :пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Hmm. I see you've reverted quite a few of my edits. ::This is not a readable ::article - we do not need massive copies of the club badges - the table is more than sufficient to provide the information. ::пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Also, when you want to add more than one template to an article, you can nest them, i.e.
{{fb start}}
{{Ligue Professional 1}}
{{Football in Tunisia}}
{{fb end}}
This removes the spaces between the templates and makes it look better. пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:27, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply

Are you Tunisian soccer fan? Do you folow Tunisian soccer? Do you know how crazy Tunisians are about soccer?

It's quite significant to have the logos in every single article. To indicate the history and the differences. so please could you net do any cleanup in Tunisian soccer related pages unless you open discussion about it please. Also I'm well awaer of the space that that leaves...and you think it looks better but it's not a fact ...since there was no survey about it. BYF079: "Faïcel Ben Yedder" (talk) 08:41, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

One quick question: Why was your page Vandalised more than 15 times??

[edit] Please Give Me a Break!

Please stop editing the Tunisian league pages as you clearly have contributed only in deleting and omitting things...almost never adding any bit of new information. Why don't make a survey and check with Tunisian wikipedians and check what do the think is proper for the league pages ...it's not a law not all the pages have to look a like, it's not the military here!

Tons of other leagues pages are not standard ...the Moroccan ones for instance...so please edit some other pages.

Please edit some other pages. Pretend that those page do not exist in wikipedia... Please do take a clear look at your pages men a lot of people are complaining about your deletions.

I have replied on the relevant talk page about the Mizrahi Worker. About the other issue, I really don't know if the affiliations still stand. I'm sure that at least some of these localities have websites, or a website for the regional council, which may clarify the official position of the kibbutz/moshav. No time to check that now, but if you give me a list of the locations, I'll look for the websites on day.

It's too bad that you haven't been on messenger, but I'll e-mail you per your advice, probably today.
