This document is in the public domain as it is part of the Church of Scientology's application for tax-exemption under Section 501 (c)(3). The specific ruling with regards to the public domain status of this and other documents has been laid out on the website of the Internal Revenue Service:
"[...] What tax documents must an exempt organization make available for public inspection and copying?
"An exempt organization must make available for public inspection its exemption application. An exemption application includes the Form 1023 (for organizations recognized as exempt under § 501(c)(3)), Form 1024 (for organizations recognized as exempt under most other paragraphs of § 501(c)), or the letter submitted under the paragraphs for which no form is prescribed, together with supporting documents and any letter or document issued by the IRS concerning the application. A political organization exempt from taxation under § 527(a) must make available for public inspection and copying its notice of status, Form 8871. [...]"

NoCoins
category links talk edit |
|
This image has currency in it to indicate scale. Please add the size of the coin to this template: For example, 19 mm for a US or Canadian one-cent coin.
Using objects such as coins for scale is discouraged, as they will require people unfamiliar with them to look up the dimensions or guess, both of which defeat the purpose of the object in the first place. Coins are particularly bad as they can reinforce a geographical bias, and some coins' designs are not free content.
If possible, upload a photograph of the subject using ruler for scale (example) or add a scale marking via an image editor instead (example). SI/metric units are the most commonly used worldwide (see metre, 1 E-2 m).

This image was uploaded in a format such as GIF or PNG. It could be stored, however, in the JPEG format which compresses photos more effectively. Using JPEG will decrease the size of the image, reducing download time. If possible, please upload a JPEG version of this image. If a source URL for the image is listed and functional, please convert the image found at that location in the chance that the creator of this image made edits to the original which consequently reduced its quality. Conversion can be done with free image-editing software such as GIMP. After doing so, please replace all instances of the previous version throughout Wikipedia (noted under the "File links" header), tag the old version with NewImage.jpg , and remove this tag. Though this image is subject to copyright, its use in the article is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It's a low resolution copy of a CD/album cover.
- It doesn't limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the CD/album in any way, in fact, it may encourage sales.
- Because of the low resolution, copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the album artwork on another CD.
- The image is itself a subject of discussion in the article or used in the infobox thereof.
- The image on the cover is significant because it was made by the famous artist, .

Source:
- Derived from a digital capture (scan/photo) of the album/CD cover (creator of this digital version is irrelevant as the copyright in all equivalent images is still held by the same party) or an original pre-print file released by the copyright holder or designer. Copyright held by the record company or the artist. Claimed as fair use regardless.

Fair use rationale for the article [[]]
I, User:, believe that the use of this non-free image in the article [[]] is fair because:
- No free or public domain images exist for this or any album cover.
- This image does not replace the original market role of the album.
- This should and most likely be used only on the article for the album it depicts.
- This image is widely distributed in other venues, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is.
- This image meets all general Wikipedia content requirements and is encyclopedic.
- The image significantly illustrates the object of the article.
- The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the album in any way.
- The cover is being used for educational and informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original album in any way, or deprive its copyright holders of any financial gain.
- The image is of lower resolution than the original cover. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, and could not be used as artwork on illegal CD copies of the album.
Note that this does not claim fair use in articles other than [[]]. If you wish to use this image in another article, please add a new fair use rationale below.

Non-free content rationale for an image of an audio recording cover to be used in the article(s) [[]]
- The image is irreplaceable; a free analogue is impossible to produce.
- Only a small portion of a copyrighted work is used.
- The image is used solely to illustrate the audio recording in question.
- The use of this image does not compete with the copyright holders' usage.
- The image is of inferior quality compared to that of an original, having been reduced to web-resolution.

This is the current corporate logo belonging to {article}, used to discuss that company in the article {article}. Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as follows. The logo is used solely for purposes of identification and critical commentary on a subject of public interest. Because it is a logo there is no free equivalent, and the entire logo must be used to convey the meaning and avoid misrepresenting the company's corporate branding. As a logo it is significant because it helps the reader identify the company, assures the reader that they have reached the right article, and illustrates the company's intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey. Care was taken to copy the logo in a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company, without being overly high resolution.

Portion used |
Because the image is historically significant, the entire image is needed to identify the subject, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image.
|
Low resolution? |
The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable for uses that would compete with any commercial purpose of the photograph.
|
Purpose of use |
Identification and critical commentary in the [[]] article, a subject of public interest. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed next to the associated material discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for.
|
Replaceable? |
Because the image depicts a non-reproducible historic event, there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.

WP Trains fair use

WikiProject Trains image fair-use rationale: Use of this copyrighted image contributes significantly to the linked article(s) and meets all of Wikipedia's fair-use criteria in that
- it "identifies the subject of the article(s), and specifically illustrates relevant points or sections within the text;"
- the image places the subject of the article(s) and/or related items in a historical context as it depicts certain pieces of equipment, structures, people, operations, or events, at a particular location, on a specified date and/or time (equipment and/or structures bear specific paint and/or other identifying decorations);
- the image has been carefully selected to show various aspects of the subject matter not shown in any other image;
- the image has a detailed caption that demonstrates its relevance to the article(s); and
- due the historical context, no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information (the subject of the photograph likely no longer exists in the subject context, and therefore a freely-licensed photograph cannot be taken).
This tag must be used in conjunction with another fair-use image tag. All questions or concerns over the use of this image should be posted at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains/Images task force talk page. If an equivalent free image is available it should be uploaded and placed in all relevant articles. |

GFDL presumed warning
links talk edit |
[edit] :Image:
Hi. When you uploaded :Image:, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with GFDL-presumed and, for some time, it has existed on Wikipedia under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted.

If you, personally, are the author of this content, meaning that you took the photograph yourself or you created the chart yourself (and it does not use any clipart that you did not create), please retag the image with a free image copyright tag that correctly describes your licensing intentions, usually GFDL-self or PD-self. Please also make sure if you have not already done so that you write a good description of what the image depicts, when you took the photo, and other important details. GFDL presumed warning 2
links talk edit |
[edit] :Image:
Hi. When you uploaded :Image:, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with GFDL-presumed and, for some time, it has existed on Wikipedia under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted.

Missing rationale2

Fair use rationale for
: is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
