[edit] New articles

Are you really creating new articles based on information from a betting site? Pairadox (talk) 01:31, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean a betting site??? Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 14:12, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Pinnacle Sports Betting, "A smarter way to bet." Pairadox (talk) 14:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Hey, did not notice it was a betting site. I typed in the names into google and it was the only one with stats and bio i could find. Want use it anymore. Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 14:12, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Kool. Remember that reliable sources, properly cited, greatly increase the chance of an article sticking around. :D Pairadox (talk) 14:22, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Article by obituary

It's really disturbing that most of the articles you have created recently seem to be based on obituaries. If the person isn't notable enough in life to have an article, creating one because they died is inappropriate and seems to violate the spirit of Wikipedia is not a memorial site. If the only source of info is an obit, I submit that the person shouldn't have an article created to celebrate their death. Pairadox (talk) 23:49, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

First of all i don't see how it is disturbing. Second of all i find it is a way that articles could be started and that the person may well be notable but there were no good sources until the unfortunate event of death. Several articles are created posthumously. I also feel that if an article is a read link then users should do there best to create the articles. As well as that i feel that creating a article after someone has died is not a memorial. Thanks. Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 23:57, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Take a bullet for the President

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Take a bullet for the President, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Take a bullet for the President. Gwernol 00:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of To Take a Bullet for the President

I have nominated To Take a Bullet for the President, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/To Take a Bullet for the President. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Speedy deletion of Robert Tetsu

A tag has been placed on Robert Tetsu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:59, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Articles without sources

Please don't create articles without sources, as you did with Earl Greenburg. And especially don't include claims about sexuality with a source - regardless of whether the person is dead or not. Pairadox (talk) 20:54, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Ok Thanks i will argree with the articles without sources but in the obituary it says his former partner Rich ... and his life partner David ...... There for i only stated his sexuality due to the charities he worked with for his deceased partner. Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 23:37, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Journalists

Hello. I've noticed that you are interested in journalists, even competing with me to see who would create Alaa Abdulkareem Fartusi first.:) On that same subject, I would like to offer you an invitation to create Pierre Billaud. I've been wanting to create it for a while now but never really got around to it. Since you seem ever so eager to add your articles created to your contribution list, I have provided you a reference: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9905EFDC1038F930A25752C1A9679C8B63 You can also see my other articles on the topic: Volker Handloik and Johanne Sutton for my format, though you can do it with your own format. All the same, happy editing! Editorofthewiki (talk) 22:27, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Chandlerjoeyross. Just wondering, why do you always capitalize many unimportant words, mostly Born. I've noticed this a lot from you recently and I was just giving you a heads up. Toodles! Editorofthewiki 23:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Noggra

I have nominated Noggra, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noggra. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. ÐeadΣyeДrrow (Talk | Contribs) 00:45, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Noggra. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. It looks like it is going to be deleted. So god damn annoying. It makes no sense, he was definately notable. Wikipedia has an article on a bridge in Cambodia and that is more notable than this? Ridiculous. All these people on wiki who are so uptight. It really piss me off. Hopefully the article does not get deleted. michfan2123 (talk) 02:06, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ASG

Hi,

The all star game is an exhibition game. Sure, it has some of the league's biggest stars, but ultimately the game counts for nothing. Most of the players (admittedly) do not even give close to 100%. Kobe Bryant (one of the best players in the game) played all of three minutes. There are much more important things than an exhibition game. This is a place for contemporary geopolitical news relevant to the international community. This is not a sports bias on my part- i frequently add sports news, but not exhibition games. Please also note I am not the only user to remove this entry. There is a time and a place for everything. Current events is not the place for this. See you when Finals comes around. That was the friendliest warning I could find. "TBA" is wrong and inccurate. The participants will not be announced, they will be determined (hence "TBD"), not to mention that "To be annoucned" redirects to "To be determined" (so there was no reason to change the link). You may think TBA looks better, but TBD is more accurate and waht we at WP:PW use in situations like this. TJ Spyke 22:47, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Full.822128abdul.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Full.822128abdul.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 15:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:WuJin.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:WuJin.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:20, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Kizzy: Mum at 14

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Kizzy: Mum at 14, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Kizzy: Mum at 14 seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Kizzy: Mum at 14, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] You are performing a useful service

By starting entries, you help those who are beginners and daunted by editing Wikipedia get a usable template to enter more data. In particular you started an entry for Harriet McBryde Johnson, probably on the basis of her NYT obituary. Most people (and especially Harriet) who get noticed by that paper are almost pre-screened as "notable" and she most assuredly was. Keep doing it - it's a help. And you might find any people in the list of disability rights activists who don't have entries, e.g. Wade Blank who is very notable.

[edit] Nick Badami

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Nick Badami, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/06/sports/SKI-Obit-Badami.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
