Saint Anne's School is a secondary school in Southampton, England. It school was previously known as Saint Anne's Convent School and is currently a girls' school. The school is situated close to the city centre, and attracts pupils from all round the city who seek an education with a Catholic Christian basis. The School governors voted in March 2005 to accept boys into the sixth form from September 2006. In January 2005, before boys were admitted, there were 1104 girls enrolled in the school.[1]
The school was last inspected by OFSTED on 14 January 2002.
According to the Department of Education performance tables, the school obtained the third highest CVA score in the city. This is a new, complex Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 contextual value added (CVA) score designed to show the progress children have made. This is done by comparing their achievements with those of other pupils nationally who had the same or similar prior attainment in their test results at age 10 or 11 in 2001.[2]
