Sports Edition Magazine

Sports Edition & Entertainment Magazine (print-ISSN 1941-3564) (online-ISSN 1937-8114) is a monthly magazine published on the first week of each month in Friendswood, Texas. The sports-magazine is also known as Sports Edition and Sports Edition Monthly.

Sports Edition & Entertainment Magazine is owned and published by Sports Edition, Inc. of Friendswood, Texas. Sports Edition began publication in the late 1987 by Michael Johnston and was purchased by Houston Community Newspapers (HCN) in the late 1990's. HCN dropped the publication by 2000, and never renewed ownership of the name or product. In 2006, Houston area publisher Jeanie McHugh and NFL center of the Houston Texans, Steve McKinney picked up the old name under Sports Edition, Inc. and began as a Houston Bay Area, high school sports publication.
The magazine is distributed in Clear Lake City, Alvin, Friendswood, Webster, Pasadena, Galveston & other bay area comunities.
Sports Edition covers Houston Sports, such as the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Comets, Houston Dynamo and Houston Aeros. They also cover outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, cycling, running, exercise, health and high school sports.
