[edit] Gene Kelly photo

Well done on sourcing that terrific photo of Kelly for the infobox! D7240 (talk) 16:45, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Killers (1946 film)

I noticed a while back that you replaced two images of the film w/ images from the "commons." Cool, however, they are similar in style and in look. I'm going to delete one of them, and replace w/ an iconic image of Lancaster just before he gets killed in the film. I trust this does not violate policy, I do not see how it can...the images currently in the article, just sells the article short. My best -- Luigibob (talk) 06:43, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Awards

Hi. It isn't really written anywhere that I know of, although it is part of the manual of style for films, it doesn't cover biographies of film people. I actually don't think mentioning specific awards won is peacockery, although I think just calling someone "award-winning" out of specificity is so. I'm torn, as what I've usually seen (and battled) is the complete removal of mention of awards from the lead. There has been debate about the use of nationally specific awards, such as mentioning Academy Awards but not BAFTA, and I agree that if a person has won awards internationally, it all should be covered. I suppose that ultimately, the judicious use of wording is the key for me. he Garland article is a featured article, so I suppose one must take into consideration that the opening sentence passed, but Monroe's lead sentence is a nightmare to read aloud. I know this isn't an exact opinion, and for that I'm sorry. I think it depends on how it is handled (worded) and how much is included. I agree the Newman article covers it better and that perhaps is the model to use. Wildhartlivie (talk) 05:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I happily leave Monroe to you. Once you start tinkering with her article, you'll probably find every Monroe groupie in the world come out to defend her iconness. I'm not sure that I think of her as a fashion icon, though I suppose there are those who do. Only short of that are the Garland-ites. If you need help, let me know! It looks good to me. I'll check back on it later, I'm off to use the weedeater! Wildhartlivie (talk) 11:45, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
