Nesher (Hebrew: נֶשֶׁר‎) is a city in the Haifa District in Israel. According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), at the end of 2001 the city had a total population of 20,600. The mayor of Nesher is David Amar.

CBS statistics for 2001 show Nesher's ethnic makeup as 99.4% Jewish and other non-Arabs. In 2001 the city had 102 residents classified as "new immigrants." (See Population groups in Israel).

According to 2001 CBS statistics, Nesher had 10,000 male and 10,500 female residents. The population was distributed as follows: 29.4% 19 years of age or younger, 16.1% between 20 and 29, 24.0% between 30 and 44, 16.0% from 45 to 59, 3.6% from 60 to 64, and 10.8% 65 years of age or older. The population growth rate in 2001 was 0.6%.

According to CBS statistics for 2000, city residents included 8,026 salaried workers and 474 self-employed. The mean monthly wage in 2000 for a salaried worker in the city was 5,974 NIS, a real change of 7.5% over the course of 2000. Salaried males had a mean monthly wage of 7,664 NIS (a real change of 6.5%) versus 4,177 NIS for females (a real change of 5.1%). The mean income for the self-employed is 5,727 NIS. There were 435 individuals receiving unemployment benefits and 1,264 individuals receiving a basic income-guarantee supplement.

According to the CBS, the city has 9 schools with 3,207 students enrolled. These include 6 elementary schools (1,695 students), and 3 high schools (1,512 students). 80.7% of 12th grade students qualified for a matriculation certificate (high school diploma) in 2001.
