Helston Railway Preservation Company

The Helston Railway Preservation Company is a heritage railway trying to rebuild part of the branch line linking Gwinear Road (on the Cornish Main Line) to Helston, in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Rebuilding work is centering around Trevarno Gardens. The first track panel has now been laid at Trevarno (see picture)
The line has 5 rail vehicles on site so far, a 2 car Park Royal DMU, 2 Ruston & Hornsby 165DS diesel shunters and a BR 20 ton brake van, all of these vehicles are owned by members of the Helston Railway Diesel Group who are actively restoring all of these vehicles, the line is being built entirely by volunteers and is funded only by donations and membership subscriptions, also by members who buy shares in the Helston Railway Preservation Company Ltd.
Vistors can vist the Helston Railway via the Trevarno estate where an entrance fee is payable, however, Members of the railway are entitled to a 25% discount on entry upon production of a valid membership card.
