[edit] About David

David arrived in the Dales late 2006 and immediately turned the ladies' heads, with the intention to confront his father, Eric Pollard, who didn’t even know of his existence.

Before he revealed his identity, he started work at the factory in an attempt to find out more about his estranged father. He also struck up a flirty friendship with fun-loving Del and hoped some romance may come from of it. David was soon left disappointed when Del mistakenly thought her uncle Zak was his mystery relative and distanced herself. The truth soon came out, and it was revealed that local businessman Eric Pollard was in fact the father of David, a statement which left Eric stunned.

Their relationship started rough when Eric accused David's late mother of having loose morals, resulting in David assaulting him. However, Eric was determined to prove that David wasn't telling the truth, and conducted a secret DNA test (not realizing he'd bungled it), which returned results stating that David wasn't his son. A further test carried out by David later confirmed that Eric was in fact the true biological father of David.

He showed the village he was his father's son by evicting local businessman Rodney Blackstock from a barn which he had been renting from Eric. He also struck up a love/hate relationship with the pretty Jasmine Thomas. David soon got in business with Nicola Blackstock but Jasmine was suspicious of her and discovered Donald, Nicola's old millionaire husband who was in a coma, she planned to find Miles (Donald's son) and bring him off the booze but he ran from her and Nicola made it clear that David had to choose between her and his love Jasmine. David chose Mrs. De Souza over Jasmine and was caught cheating on her with Nicola; they then planned to wait for the old man to die off and to claim his money. Things got bad when Donald regained consciousness and Miles was off the drink, Donald knew he could take Nicola on and allowed her to be his wife, but David didn't care anymore, he wanted to be with Nicola and told her to divorce him and get half the cash, however Nicola said their marriage wasn't consummated as Donald went into a coma on their wedding night and had to stay with him as their marriage would be invalid. Donald forgave Nicola for her affair with David and employed David. Nicola continued her affair with David and they were caught by Miles, Nicola now wants to kill Donald and frame his nurse, at first David was sickened by the idea and refused to go with it, but reluctantly agreed, at first.

Soon David realised he wanted no part of murder and when Donald offered to let him run the business he'd started with Nicola, David agreed to break up with Nicola. Nicola continued with her murder attempts, but when she tried to electrocute Donald via faulty wiring of a train set, David fixed the wiring, and soon told Donald the truth. Donald dumped Nicola and after some pleading, let David retain his small business. Nicola repeatedly begged David for another chance, but he wasn't interested. However, when she asked for a job to help pay her rent, he agreed to let her clean the floors.
