The Industrial University of Selangor (Malay: Universiti Industri Selangor) (UNISEL) was established at year 1999, the university has two campuses - the main campus is at Bestari Jaya (formerly Batang Berjuntai) (completed in 2005) and the branch campus at Shah Alam. The Shah Alam campus houses the School of Biotechnology & Life Sciences, Faculty of Medical Science and the Lifelong Education Centre. The Berjuntai Bestari campus, with the total width of 1,000 acres (4.0 km²) hosts the School of Education, Faculty of Language Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Management, and Faculty of Information Technology Industry (UNISELEC). The Chancellor of Unisel is Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of the current Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Though Unisel is fully-owned by the state government of Selangor, it is regarded as a private university due to the fact that the university is managed by Pendidikan YS Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the state-owned Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad.
