Syd Barrett

Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett (January 6, 1946 – July 7, 2006) was a famous English musician. Barrett is most famous for starting the rock band Pink Floyd. He started the band in 1965 under a lot of different names. He also wrote the bands first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn. After this record came out, he used a lot of drugs. He was taken out of the band in 1968. He had 2 more records after he left the band, but they were not popular with most people. He later went into a brain illness due to drugs.
