Zapiekanka
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zapiekanka is a Polish name for halved baguette topped mainly with mushrooms and cheese, or other types of meat, cheese and vegetables. Beside some basic version there are several recipes like Zapiekanka "Hawaii" with Ananas, "Grecka" with olives and feta cheese etc. It is served scalloped and most of the time topped with dressings like ketchup and chives. It is a very popular fast food in Poland and sold with a good price-performance ratio. Sidewalk sale prices range between 4 and 7 Zloty for an approx. 25 cm long Zapiekanka.[citation needed]
