[edit] re: Canyon High School (Anaheim, California)

I reverted your edits to Canyon High School (Anaheim, California) because they are strongly POV and unsourced. -- ArglebargleIV 23:21, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Looking at the page history of the Canyon High School article, I, Zzyzx11, made two reversions: one on 07:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC) [1] and another on 04:09, 7 September 2006 [2]. They were made to revert the changes made by a suspected sockpuppet of a currently banned user. As per WP:BAN#Enforcement by reverting edits, "any edits made in defiance of a ban may be reverted to enforce the ban, regardless of the merits of the edits themselves." Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 23:31, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm very sorry if I removed any valid work from the article. That wasn't my intention. Soltras 00:42, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

My work will be reverted, but since you are not banned, please revert it back to the version by the first IP starting with "69" on the history section. It will not be reverted since you were not banned on Canyon High School (Anaheim, California) 69.230.41.31 05:12, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

With all due respect (as in, none at all), piss off. You're a vandal and I'm not stupid enough to vandalize a page that I created. XSG 05:47, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Policing of Burning Man Article

You rock! XSG 05:16, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Yea, thanks for your edits too, the article is getting out of hand and needed some bold action to keep it from getting any worse. It was on the verge of just being a communal blog. I intend to to more constructive work (rather than just deleting bad edits), but you know--getting around to it eventually. I really love BM too, and would like to see the article become a featured article, which of course would never happend if the article continues in the direction it was going Brentt 20:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alex Randolph

Hi! I saw your request on Talk:Alex Randolph for help with the bio. It looked like a good start to me ... of course, I am very far from being an expert. Anyway, the next thing is to add the WPBiography tag (which I just did) so it'll get into that project, perhaps attract the attention of Biographiles. Also I think the tag creates a link you can follow to find more about biographies. You are on your way!! rewinn 02:46, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I wanted to make you aware that I have nominated this article for deletion, as it does not appear to meet notability standards for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Considering that the article was created over eighteen months ago, I would think there has been sufficient time to expand the article with enough information that the notability should be clear to a reader. I would invite you to comment on the afd discussion, located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Alex_Randolph. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 07:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SCBT

Greetings!

It's pretty rare that I pull a db- tag off of an article. This was one of those cases. The company gets well over a million Google hits even when I filter out its own website [3] --and it appears in biotech journals, as well as the National Institute of Health (nih.gov). I won't revert you if you put the tag back, but in my opinion this is a notable company. Disclaimer--I'm not a biotech expert; I'm just a fairly experienced crud-patroller, with thousands of deletions, and to my eye this one seemed keepable. Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 03:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Canyon High School (Anaheim, California) Teachers

Hi, XSG, I removed the teacher award section for two reasons:

 1. The UCSD Outstanding High School Teacher is of dubious notability.
 2. None of those teachers on the list of teachers that were honored by UCSD (at least according to the web site linked as a citation for the award).

I'll hold off on removing that section again until I hear from you again. Thanks, OCNative 09:18, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thank you for the note on my talk page :) I appreciate your comments. Zahakiel 14:15, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Ah Louis

A tag has been placed on Ah Louis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mhking 00:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Ah Louis. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Mhking 00:59, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

I noticed your signature contains a link to someone else's contribution page. You might want to change it to be "XSG" instead of "Xsg". --- RockMFR 17:07, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Referencing

Hey. I use the cite tags because they're a much cleaner, more efficient and accurate way of referencing things. The main list of reference templates is at WP:CIT. I basically stick to using the cite web, cite news, and Citation templates. They're pretty simple to use; just copy the template over and use as much of it as you can, and then wrap it in a ref tag and you're good to go. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 02:10, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of NBC Slogans

I have nominated NBC Slogans, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NBC Slogans. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Gladys J Cortez 20:36, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

 • XSG--Thanks for the effort; I didn't realize this was an attempt to solve the issue, rather than a separate issue all its own. I actually discussed the why-do-we-have-two-articles question over at the Proud as a Peacock AfD, and no one there realized it either; the consensus was leading toward "we don't need both" and preference seemed to be for the list... Didn't mean to step on your toes, by any means. Sorry 'bout that.Gladys J Cortez 23:41, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] University of Phoenix

Look a little closer at the dispute, i.e. read the talk page, and look at what was reverted. I reverted the complete reorganization of the article which an editor has implemented unilaterally based on a "proposed" guideline which he is interpreting as a rule. When I reverted last time I was not able to give the full reason why I did. As for the notable section, the section currently contains alumni not instructors, however, it does not concern me where it goes. As I stated before, I reverted because the article was turned upside down because of a purported "rule". I noted this in the talk page. I thought I only reverted it twice actually.Mysteryquest (talk) 07:31, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Well maybe I can't count because I count two revisions, which were not of the notable section, but the reorganization, the notable section being an incidental casualty. But I appreciate your looking out.Mysteryquest (talk) 16:03, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Signature

Thank you for your kind words on the AfD. However, I have to tell you that your signature, although striking, needs to be shortened. It is currently 555 characters and looks like this in the edit window:

<span style="color:#F08000;">—</span> <span style="background-color:#800080;color:#ffffff;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13px;"> <span style="font-size:11px;">X</span> </span><span style="background-color:#F08000;color:#ffffff;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13px;"> <span style="font-size:11px;">S</span> </span><span style="background-color:#400040;color:#ffffff;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13px;"> <span style="font-size:11px;">G</span> </span>

That is a real pain for other editors to deal with, and is over twice as long as the maximum allowed. See Wikipedia:SIGNATURE#Length. Thanks. Tyrenius (talk) 01:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

You can find some experts here! I'm sure they'll be able to trim it for you. Let me know how it goes. Tyrenius (talk) 11:08, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Intellitech

Thanks for keeping me on my toes! Good looking out with the need for clarification! Cheers!--Sallicio\color{Red} \oplus 02:30, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fergie and WikiProject Mexico

Hello! I just removed a tag on the talk page of the Fergie article for WikiProject Mexico. Unless I'm reading the edit history incorrectly - which is certainly possible at this time of morning - you were the person who added the tag. Could you explain why you feel that tag is appropriate for the article in question? Thanks! --InDeBiz1 (talk) 07:23, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Nope. You're reading the edit incorrectly. Good morning. Please verify your work in the future before wasting someone else's time.  X  S  G  14:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying. In the future, please remember WP:CIVIL. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 16:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Alex Randolph

An editor has nominated Alex Randolph, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alex Randolph and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:07, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deth Specula notability

I see that you've added a notability tag to the article on Deth Specula. I cited references from the New York Times, Newsweek, MediaCast, and other 3rd parties establishing notability. Specifically, the first live music concert with audio and video broadcast over the Internet. This, to me, seems to satisfy both the notability and citation requirements. Could you provide me with some better understanding of why you feel otherwise or how the article could be improved wrt notability? Ronald Joe Record (talk) 21:09, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I moved this thread to the Talk:Deth Specula page and added a reply. Ronald Joe Record (talk) 01:25, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] wikispot interwiki

I overlooked your summary pointing to WP:EL#AVOID in the recent revision of the external link on Santa Cruz, California. Thanks for pointing this out. However, wikispot is listed on Meta:Interwiki map. So, shouldn't this external link be ok? Note that this is my first exposure to the interwiki map so please feel free to educate me. Ronald Joe Record (talk) 21:54, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

You wrote on my talk page
Hi. Regarding Santa Cruz, California, the wiki that would need to be added to Interwiki is http://www.scruzwiki.org/, not wikispot.
Thanks for the reply. The interwiki link wikispot:santacruz takes one to http://www.scruzwiki.org/ which, it seems to me, is what we want. This was the usage on the 03:08, May 28, 2008 revision to Santa Cruz, California. That is, my understanding of Meta:Interwiki map is that wikispot:santacruz is the interwiki link which takes one to the wiki at http://www.scruzwiki.org/ and that this is acceptable since that interwiki link is listed in the map. Please clarify or confirm. Ronald Joe Record (talk) 02:17, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
