Viper is a wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, which opened in 1995. Viper features a layout patterned after the classic Coney Island Cyclone and is the only roller coaster ever to be built directly by Six Flags.[citation needed]

Throughout the years, Viper's queue line has undergone numerous modifications to accommodate additions such as Raging Bull and the entrance to the adjacent Hurricane Harbor water park. During Fright Fest, Viper is known as Viper: Snakes on a Train in a spoof of the 2006 movie Snakes on a Plane. It is no more rough than most other wooden roller coasters and is still a favorite for park goers today.
