These are the Montenegrin car license plate codes by municipality and in alphabetical order:

[edit] Future Registration Codes
According to Gusinje.net and Vijesti, new registration plates will be issued. Automobile plates will follow the 520 mm x 110 mm dimensions, except for motorcycles. There will also be plates with a dimension of 520 mm x 110 mm. Plates will have a white background with a black border. The plate will follow this layout: to the left, there will be a blue-colored field containing Montenegro's international automobile code (MNE); continuing in white background, the registration code of the city where the vehicle was registered in, then the coat-of-arms of Montenegro following by the registration number, which can contain both letters and numbers. Police vehicles will have blue plates, while military vehicles will have green plates. There will be separate registration codes in the future as well for the following cities: Andrijevica, Danilovgrad, Kolašin, Mojkovac, Plav, Rožaje, Šavnik, Tivat and Žabljak. The proposed codes are as follows:
- AN - Andrijevica
- DG - Danilovgrad
- KL - Kolašin
- MK - Mojkovac
- PL - Plav
- RO - Rožaje
- ŠN - Šavnik
- TV - Tivat
- ŽB - Žabljak
