This article describes the United States presidential election, 2004, in Washington.
The state of Washington, one of the most secular in the country, has been trending Democratic since 1984, the last time Republicans carried it in a presidential election. Hence President Bush's Democratic challenger, John F. Kerry won with a comfortable margin of 7%.
