Standing on the Edge is an album by the American rock group Cheap Trick, released in 1985. Jack Douglas, the producer of Cheap Trick's debut album Cheap Trick, made a return for this release.

After the lightweight production of Next Position Please Cheap Trick returned to their standard hard-rocking sound with this album. Though the songs are more powerful, the album was given a typical 80's production, with keyboards and electronic drums featuring prominently. Critics and listeners alike have offered conflicting views on this album in the context of the Cheap Trick canon, rating it as both alongside the band's best and worst releases. "Tonight It's You", the single, is the most well known song from this album, having a video that was aired on MTV, and having been released on multiple greatest hits compilations. "This Time Around" has achieved similar success, although to a lesser extent.

Bun E. Carlos insisted on being credited with "acoustic drums" because he hated the electronic drums that were used on much of the album.
Song doctor Mark Radice was brought in to help the band with the songwriting process. He played keyboards and co-wrote 8 of the album's 10 tracks. He claims that the majority of "Tonight It's You" was written by him.
Guitarist Rick Nielsen's name is misspelled on the back cover as "Rick Nelson."
This album is currently out of print in the United States.
The Japanese import version has Nielsen's name spelled correctly.
