Sound Asleep EP, also known as Whisper EP, is the second extended play (EP) released by Evanescence. Originally recorded with assistance from Bigwig Enterprises and sold at a show in August 1999, it is an unlabeled CD-R in an unmarked translucent case, sometimes found signed by Amy Lee and Ben Moody.
As only fifty copies were made, this release is considered rare. For this reason, fakes are numerous on eBay and similar services and many of these use a significantly shorter version of "Ascension of the Spirit". This shortened version is 3:17 long and is only the melody. The eight minutes of silence and the 17 seconds of movie clips have been removed from this version.
