It would have been better if you had explained this further in your edit summary or even on the talk page, as "Tobias isn't a peer of Caro or Barr or Carter" doesn't explain too much and actually gave the sense to me you had a personal dislike towards him. Sly, if you disagree with the inclusion of Josh Bernstein, perhaps you need to bring it up on the talk page, or question the notability of him in his own article. However, because he is notable and a graduate of HM, he belongs in that section. Hi Sly -- you're always a fine editor! I wonder if you'd be ok with reverting one of my thoughts, which was in the sentence: "...however it is not historically accurate that leadership of the CIA -- or any of the most senior positions in the U.S. intelligence Community -- ever hinged on being a Bonesman as the movie implies." -- As formulated originally, its a sly dig (pardon the pun) at the conspiricists (or even their own members) who persist in seeing S&B as the center of the universe. Also, would it make sense to incude Dean Winks' book as a reference somewehre (maybe it already is in references, I forgot). all in all though, a fine editing. I have had a good time visiting Harvard the past few days (on wiki) based on some road trips to Signet when I was last in Cambridge. they're screwed up up there, still have the all male system firmly in place. That's about as sustainable as the russian monarchy (or, I guess, Augusta National)...BoolaBoola2

The article is much improved since last time I had a look at it. Thank you for correcting the problems I mentioned and adding a lot to the article. Like any article it has room for improvement. For helpful hints, see Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles. In particular, the article could use more citations and should convert to the <ref> system. See Wikipedia:Citing sources to find out how to do this. I probably won't be reviewing the article in the future because I've been on Wikipedia less lately and generally edit other types of articles. On quick glance, to make this a featured article it needs more citations. The lead and the history sections currently have none. I like to use the <ref> system, but any of the standard formats in wp:cite should work. The article should probably have an illustrative picture. A picture of the Wolf's Head Hall is most obvious and probably easiest to get, but a historical picture of the society's early days would be great if it exists and is available under a free license. Have you submitted the article to requests for feedback? Have you incorporated the suggestions received? If so, the next step would be submitting the article to Wikipedia:Peer review. They will be brutally honest and harsh so try to improve any obvious faults on your own before submission. See Wikipedia:Article development for still more advice. There is an ongoing active vandal operating from the New York Public Library system open terminals. We are forced by those circumstances to keep blocking those IP addresses on a regular basis.

I guess your comment relates to my edit of Wolf's Head (secret society). The problem is that there are two notable Benno Schmidts (father and son: Benno C. Schmidt, Sr. and Benno C. Schmidt, Jr.), fairly close in age as notable fathers and sons go. Failure to use the Jr. and Sr. has made hash of their separate identities. I am trying to sort out the links before creating a disambiguation page. I have no objection to your restoration of piping to remove the "Jr.", as long as we distinguish the two. --Orlady (talk) 18:53, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm glad you are interested in taking on Benno C. Schmidt, Sr. as a research project, but I'm afraid I can't offer much help. I backed into that disambiguation issue when trying to properly caption and link the image that appears in the Benno C. Schmidt, Sr. article (an image that I found while trying to illustrate Robert A. Good).
- I think I have successfully identified the correct Benno Schmidt for all but one of the articles that linked to Benno Schmidt. The exception is The Brook (an article has a lot of unsourced information, in spite of my recent efforts there) -- I can imagine that either or both of them might have been members of that club. --Orlady (talk) 21:28, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

- I guess I should have told you when I ran across that source that documents the coinage of the term "venture capital." There's a lot more material where that came from regarding Benno Sr. and the origins of venture capital. - You made some interesting observations on sourcing at Wikipedia. I don't guess there's much controversy regarding lists of members of Yale secret societies (and it's a subject that is not publicly documented and that arouses much curiosity), so you may have experienced less pressure to stringently follow WP:V than I've encountered in my Wikipedia experience. Suffice it to say that the requirement for citations to support all content is Wikipedia policy. A lot of seemingly innocuous (and undoubtedly valid) content gets removed for lack of citations, or at a minimum gets plastered with "Unreferenced" templates or "citation needed" tags. --Orlady (talk) 18:05, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

How exactly was the question irrelevant to the proceedings? It was a college forum where the students were allowed to ask Kerry questions. You really think it's ok to rig the presidency? LMFAO! You really think the police only enforce laws when they have been broken? Have you been living under a rock? One of my best friends got pulled over a couple weeks ago and he took a drink while the cops were coming up to the car and the cops rushed him, said he had drugs, and beat him. Badly. - Just re-read. You are telling me that the prize was first awarded 8 years before the son of J A Porter graduated? Although in the Yale prizes website it says B.A. 1842 (The year the Father graduated?)
- Am I missing something here? I reckon you're an American (No derogatory comment intended, its just because of your interest), perhaps you can call the university and find out for sure, I live in Finland, costs are too prohibitive for me to do that.
- Here is my rundown - From the wikipedia article: "Porter graduated from Yale College in 1842"
- From the Yale site: "JOHN ADDISON PORTER (1872). Kingsley Trust Association in honor of Professor John A. Porter, B.A. 1842. "
- Son's details: "They had a son, also John Addison, born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 17th, 1856, who also graduated from Yale (in 1878)"
- Seriously, what did I miss here?
