Sideline reporter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A sideline reporter, also known as a field reporter/analyst, courtside reporter (in basketball), third-member of a broadcast team, or inside the glass reporter (in ice hockey), is a member of the broadcasting team for a sporting event who assists with additional coverage away from the broadcasting booth or press row (in basketball). Often the sideline reporter makes special updates on injuries and conducts interviews, since the play-by-play broadcaster and color commentator must remain in their main broadcast position.
