Seville is a suburb on the Warburton Highway, to the east of Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Yarra Ranges and sits within the Yarra Valley wine region. It is serviced by Metlink bus 683 from Chirnside Park to Warburton via Lilydale railway station. The township sits on a dismantled railway line which is now the Warburton Trail. In 2007, a council plan is on display in the local IGA supermarket fora proposed shopping centre on the land adjacent to the Seville post office.
Seville was originally called Redlands due to the vibrantly red soil of the area. The name was changed when another town was found that already used the term.[citation needed]
