Welcome to my talk page. The general policies I follow on this page are outlined below.
- I welcome discussion here on Wikipedia related matters, but please refrain if you wish to contact me on other matters.
- Sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~)
- Be civil. I will be correspondingly polite.
- If you add personal attacks or vandalism to this page, it will be reverted.
- I am often busy in real life, and will not necessarily reply to messages with alacrity. Keep this in mind.
- I will respond on your talk page unless you specify that you want a response here, which I will oblige.
- If you are here to request my aid as an administrator, then please provide a thorough explanation of what you want done and why. If I am not available, then I would recommend one of the many pages where you can report such tasks for administrators to take care of the problem (i.e. WP:AIV for vandalism, WP:RFP for protection).
- I will archive every thirty topics. Please do not respond on archived discussions. If you wish to continue a conversation, start a new discussion on this page.
And that's it. Happy editing!

[edit] Watchlist
As an admin, do you get to see if a page is watched, who is watching it, or how many people are watching it? Gary King (talk) 07:02, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- What policy discussions? Either I'm unaware, or I am involving myself in things that simply interest me and so I accidentally come upon some discussions :D Gary King (talk) 07:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] List of Black Lagoon episodes
Just curious, why did you upload a new image Image:BlackLagoonDVD.jpg to replace Image:Black-Lagoon DVD cover.jpg (effectively turned the latter into an orphan fairuse image)? I think the two are pretty much redundant, except that the new image is actually of larger scale, not really favoured by WP:FAIRUSE (which would prefer low-resolution non-free images). --PeaceNT (talk) 12:14, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] User:DanCSeshmaroo
This is probably the hundredth or so sockpuppet of a banned user, who initially attacked User:David A, and is now creating endless attack accounts on Wikipedia. A CheckUser has been done once, but it seemed to not have made any difference. Suggest blocking anyone with this editing pattern from here on. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 04:54, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 04:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
I appreciate earning my first barnstar. I'm not really sure I'm interested in adminship. The process seems like a popularity contest to me, with people opposing people whose views they find irritating. I also think it would just take me away from editing articles, which I actually enjoy. But I appreciate the gesture, and who knows... I may find my interests changing over time. Thanks again! Randomran (talk) 15:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Coming to terms
- I must admit, at first i thought you were a little stiff and uptight, but now, after a while, i see your a brilliant editor. you have made many wonderful edits and truly diserve your administartor poisition. bottom line, im sorry for ever being rude to you or doubting you. also, is there a way to check i.p. addresses on wikipiedia to help find out sock puppets? -Tobi4242 (talk) 16:01, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Question
Dear Sephiroth BCR, a while back I thought when you asked a couple of editors to join into a discussion that it was canvassing, which you disputed and so having looked at the canvassing guideline, I am curious how one can go about trying to get greater participation and input in policy and AfD discussions without it appearing as canvassing? I noticed for example this aspect of the AfD instructions regarding the nominating process: "it is generally considered courteous to notify the good-faith creator and any main contributors of the articles that you are nominating for deletion. Also consider notifying WikiProjects listed on the discussion page. Do not notify bot accounts or people who have made only insignificant 'minor' edits. To find the main contributors, look in the page history or talk page of the article and/or use TDS' Article Contribution Counter. For your convenience, you may use {{subst:AFDWarningNew|Article title}} ~~~~ (for creators who are totally new users), {{subst:AFDWarning|Article title}} ~~~~ (for creators), or {{subst:Adw|Article title}} ~~~~ (for contributors or established users). You can determine the main contributors of the articles by entering the page name at Wikipedia Page History Statistics." A major concern for me with AfDs and some of these other talk page discussions is that they seem likely primarily the same handful of editors and I think that we need to bring in more opinions whether they agree or disagree with our stances. I would be much easier to convince if I heard from some new voices and I think we could reach a more convincing understanding and consensus. Should we include links in the welcome messages that urge editors to not only look over the policy pages, but consider discussing them on the talk pages? Should we use those suggested AfD templates for everyone who worked on the articles under discussion? Any ideas would be appreciated. [edit] Undiscussed move
In spite of the consensus on various talk pages, someone moved Majin Boo to its "Buu" counterpart. Can you revert this and move-protect the page? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 16:54, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks man. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 17:20, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Message for you
Hi Sephiroth, the following message was created at Editing User talk:Sephiroth BCR (comment) (now deleted) by User:Neoonyxalchemist. Best, Gwernol 02:29, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for creating the article, I'm never gonna get used to how that whole thing works. Anyways, What i wanna do is take all of the info on wikipedia and divide it into categories that we as vandal busters can reign over. From there we can split the categories into sub-categories and have captains for those. In example We'd have a culture category that would break down into sub-categories of Country, Time period, ect. From the country we could for instance have Japan and Japan could have a manga sub-category and there'd be a captain for that. All this would be determined by a counsel we'd first have to create. Basically it'd be like the Gotei 13 from Bleach (manga). So what do you think?

Could you perform a courtesy blank, per WP:CBLANK, on my last RFA? Gary King (talk) 02:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Greetings, Sephiroth. Would you mind blanking mine as well? It's this one. —SusanLesch (talk) 05:54, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Reviews
Yeah, I try to reach every FTC, FAC, and FLC when I can and if I have more time, then make my reviews longer. But at the very least, I try to pitch in a few suggestions if I am short on time or if the subject matter does not interest me as much. Gary King (talk) 16:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] A Featured List contest
Grettings. FL directors Scorpion0422 and The Rambling Man have decided to run a contest for FL contributors. We are trying to get some interest in the process and get some FLs for the under-represented topics. If you would like to learn more about this contest, you can find such information here. If you are uninterested in it, then you could still help out by reviewing FLCs submitted by the entrants. Thanks for the time, Scorpion0422 18:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for entering the contest. You are now able to select the topic that you would like to work on. While it is a good idea to know which specific list you will work on before you select a topic, you do not have to submit your list until Thursday. Once you have a topic and a list, you can start work. However, you will not be able to submit an FLC until Sunday at 00:00 (GMT). Good luck and have fun! -- Scorpion0422 18:15, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] List of Japanese submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film
The tables are ugly at List of Japanese submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film :p Why don't you use class="wikitable"? Gary King (talk) 15:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gary King
Hey Ben. It occurred to me that Gary is not an admin. While poking around on his talk page, I saw that there was possibly some admin coaching going on from you... but man, he gets a lot of talk page traffic and I couldn't sift through it all. What's the deal with this? Looking at his contribs and past history, this dude should probably be nominated... Gary, if you watchlist this page, feel free to chime in too. Oh, and one other footnote....
Akira Kurosawa actually had THREE other nominations in addition to his Honorary Award for Rashomon....Kurosawa was nominated (and won) in this category for Dersu Uzala. In that year, his film represented the Soviet Union.
With a total of 1 Honorary Award, 1 Win (for the USSR), 2 nominations (for Japan) and 2 other submitted films, he is Japan's most successful director in this category.
Also, Japan has never submitted a movie directed by a woman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adtran (talk • contribs) 16:41, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
