Sahra Wagenknecht

Sahra Wagenknecht (born on 16 July 1969 in Jena) is a German politician and Member of the European Parliament with The Left, part of the European Left and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
She is a substitute for the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, a member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of the Andean Community and a substitute for the Delegation for relations with Mercosur.

- 1990-1996: Studied philosophy and modern German literature at Jena, Berlin and Groningen

- Reading for doctorate in economics
- 1991-1995 and since 2000: Member of the PDS Executive
- 1985-1989: Member of the Goethe Society (GDR)
- since 2004: Spokeswoman for Venezuela Avanza solidarity association
