Rosemarket

Rosemarket is a village and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

The name means "market in the hundred of Roose (Welsh: Rhôs)"^[1]. It was a marcher borough founded by the Knights Hospitaller in the 12th century. Owen, in 1603, described it as one of nine Pembrokeshire "boroughs in decay"^[2]. The church, like many in Roose, is dedicated to the local St Ismael. The village has a medieval dovecote ^[3], and a large hillfort.
