[edit] Road information
- Length: 6.8km and counting
- Transportation: No "fixed" route, YRT 40 uses portions of Rodick Road
- Attractions: First Markham Place
- Road Status: 4-lane road, painted lines, with lots of curves.
- Zoning: Mainly low-density residential (70%), with a mix of commercial and industrial. All low density, though there is a high density section going up around Highway 7, as Rodick Road forms the western boundary for Downtown Markham.
- Additional Information: The road is paved and nearly completed, with two lanes per direction. The road is very busy at all times. Traffic lights are found at Woodbine Avenue, Calvert Road, Hollingham Road, Apple Creek Boulevard, Highway 7, and 14th Avennue. There are 3 stop signs along Rodick, one of them being expected to be removed by the time the extension of the road opens. The road's maximum speed is 60km/h. The original purpose of the road is to smoothen the local traffic travelling on Woodbine Avenue, and Warden Avenue. Until now, there are a lot of cars travelling on this road. Town of Markham is considering reducing the speed limit and creating more curves on the road to discourage some travellers. The road also serves as the western boundary for Downtown Markham.
