From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! Shame on us for not welcoming you earlier (actually you created your user page only a few weeks after I created my account here). BTW, thanks for making those redirects. Cheers! --maveric149

Re: People's Park, if there are examples in other places this is not a candidate for speedy deletion. Add the others. -- Graham :) | Talk 11:21, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Just for clarity, I haven't chosen anything to stay in existence, I'm just one of the people that deletes these pages and I'm not satisfied that the reason you gave was enough. I believe if it is a common place name then there should be an article on it. It doesn't have to link anywhere (as a disambig article would). The same goes for London Road and High Street: we don't need individual articles on each one that exists, but they are very common. -- Graham :) | Talk 11:33, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Actually High Street already has its own article. Graham :) | Talk 14:09, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I have unprotected Denial of service. The reason for protection was that it was being targeted by vandals. (The sysop who protected it did give an explanation on Wikipedia:Protected page...) -- Cyan 04:43, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Apologies for the edit conflicts on Car classification! Please feel free to re-edit/revert where you see fit - I'll leave the page alone for now so you can edit in peace. Cheers - akaDruid 10:59, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Back over to you :) You may want to explain a little what each financial measure is used for &/c. Thanks Dysprosia 07:31, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] Main namespace cleanup

In an effort to clean up the main namespace, I've moved your old userpage to User:Rjstott/old, as there's some edit history you might want to keep. Otherwise just delete it. --fvw* 12:12, 2004 Dec 31 (UTC)

[edit] minor edits...

just a friendly reminder, when adding births and deaths to day articles, please don't mark them as minor edits. and please write what you've done in your edit summary. happy editing! :) Kingturtle 08:11, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Liquefied natural gas

Thanks for coming behind me and cleanup my errors. Will you follow me around to every page I do? Do like the table of exporters and importers? WikiDon

[edit] HELP!

I have an anonymous contributor (IP's: 70.19.21.89, 70.18.205.35, 70.19.78.34) that keeps adding information about just one company, Cheniere Energy. I don't think that this is fair. Please look at the history and read what I put on the talk page: Talk:Liquefied natural gas and let me know if I am being unfair or not. WikiDon 00:39, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • I feel that this guy knows he is wrong and is just playing with me, he is hacking me off. WikiDon
    • He is really pissing me off! I am getting emotional. Would you check my latest respone and see if am fair? WikiDon 21:35, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] New page: Sakhalin-II

I just put up a new article ealier this morning. Could you, would you, give it the twice over? WikiDon

  • Thanks for checking it out. I did notice you added more information. I didn't know how detailed to get, I figured that the die-hards would follow the links to satisfy their appetite. I wanted to get the bigger brush stokes down pat. About LNG, I was in the middle of working on it, but you just made it go faster, I wasn't complaining, I really would love someone to be there checking my work. I tend to get in a hurry sometimes and let some things get past. Since you work for Shell maybe you can get the main IT guy to let us use some photos? It might enhance the article? Thanks again. WikiDon
    • Thanks for also looking @ Sakhalin-I. I must have had a brain fart on the vertical/horizontal, must have done that late (slaps forehead) when I was tired, and then it stayed for almost a year. Thanks again! WikiDon

[edit] Speedy tags

You've caught some good speedies just now. One thing: it's best not to sign the tag (it being in article, after all) since it makes it look like you're the one who wrote the stupidity in the article, when you're not. Good work! -Splash 03:55, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Natalee Holloway deletions

Dear Rjstott

I have started a discussion topic and invite you to join in at [1].

Thank you!

[edit] Block

Well, vandal IP blocks are normally just for 24 hours. He'll probably get the hint; if not he'll get blocked again, maybe for longer. Everyking 10:11, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Holographic Versatile Disc

FYI, your recent edit was lost when I reverted a stream of vandalism that preceeded it. You may want to revisit the article. --Kbh3rdtalk 07:02, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggest a movie spammer

Thanks for reverting all the spammers edits, By the time I had put the spam template on his talk page you had reverted all his edits for me. I see you are a recent change patroller, You might want to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject_Spam too. Orangutan 14:18, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Message...

I don't know how to send a "message" per se, so this will have to do. In regards to your:

Line 1: Line 1: - Your various modifications to articles are noted and corrected. Please do no vandalise Wikipedia or you will be blocked--Rjstott 11:20, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

...

What? I have done nothing of the sort. I don't even remember the last time I edited an article.

[edit] Source for Benjamin Chew Tilghman?

Hi,

I stumbled across your article on Benjamin Chew Tilghman the other day.

It seems that this guy had an interesting life - Civil War officer, sandblasting inventor AND paper processing chemist (see his talk page).

I was wondering if you remember what references you used for the original article? --Alvestrand 20:36, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Harrogate population

Hi. In your edit here you remove the actual figure given for the Harrogate/Knaresborough conurbation (which I have verified with the census spreadsheet) and replace it with a figure for the entire borough of Harrogate, including Ripon and suchforth, whilst not actually changing the text to reflect that the population given is not for a different area. Please be careful when doing this sort of thing. Morwen - Talk 09:06, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

look for for "key statistics urban areas" if you can't find a linky for it - i gave the direct link. Morwen - Talk 16:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Applepear2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Applepear2.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 19:34, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disambiguation Fixing.

Hi there. I'm a newer member, and I'm starting out by helping to fix links to disambiguation pages. I chose to work on shell first. The page on fixing disambiguation links says to fix both links in wikipedia:, and also links in the user: namespace. But, I don't feel comfortable editing your personal user page. Would mind replacing your link to shell with a link to shell? Thank you! nrwilk talk 19:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
