While Nationalist has had 12 likely or confirmed socks, this new user has been editing aggressively similarly to Nationalist. He/She also had an edit summary of "stop green washing Wikipedia," "green" being one of the major political camps in Taiwan, like one of Nationalist's socks did before ("You are a Pan Green Pawn Mr. Da bian (poop)").
Like Nationalist, all of his/her edits are related to the politics of Taiwan and the username of Beautiful Formosa is similar to the previous sock of Taiwanlove, which has reference to the island of Taiwan.--Jerrch 01:25, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Possible IP sock of the Abusive Sockpuppeteer Nationalist/TingMing due to the way he/she deals with other editors and the overly over/extreme Nationalism/Anti-PRC edits and comments. nattang 17:48, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Unrelated It is instructive to review the past cases here. A lot of CU information has already been provided and is available for review. But I am not seeing any relationship between 75.183.186.223 and Nationalist/TingMing/Luden. (more than that I will not say for privacy reasons) The other IDs are blocked. 75.183.186.223 was blocked briefly for revert warring, and, in my view, bears watching because the edits are disruptive, regardless of any connection to Nationalist/TingMing/Luden. ++Lar: t/c 02:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Requesting a checkuser on Luden. TingMing is currently indef blocked. Luden has a similar edit pattern with TingMing, His edits are also all political. They both like to replace Taiwan with Republic of China. The edit summary here is really similar to TingMing's tone ("correct edit").
I'm not sure about Nationalist though. His block has expired since May, but he hasn't used it, I suspect that he probably used TingMing as his main account.--Jerry 23:18, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, Nationalist doesn't seem to be active at this present time and I bet who ever is the person behind that user, probably knows we're watching any sort of movement. I think its kind of his MO. Once he's been flagged, he abandons the username and starts a new one. And its possible that he could be using one of those rotating/random IP thingys, for example, my service provider does not give me a set IP. One day, you can trace my IP to Toronto, the next day, its Unionville. Anyways, my point is that Jerry's probably right and the person has probably abandonned User:Nationalist. - TingMing (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- DoctorPP (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser)
- Code letter: F
Requesting CheckUser on DoctorPP (talk · contribs), as possible sockpuppet of Nationalist (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser) and or TingMing (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser), both of whom have been blocked for disruptive editing, the former of whom has a long history of block evasion with sockpuppets and attempts to thwart CUs through IP manipulation. The latter was found by CU to be a possible Nationalist sock (IP showed same region, but different ISP), and displayed extremely similar editing patterns.
The following evidence is provided:
- General similarities of editing patterns: Nationalist sockpuppets have shown an obsession with editing articles related to the Republic of China / Taiwan. Edits are generally brief, and reflect said user's obsession over naming / referencing the ROC, and political position reflective of hardline KMT (Chinese nationalism) views. [1] [2] [3] [4]
- Extensive history of block evasion with sockpuppets as evidenced here. TingMing (talk · contribs) was recently blocked for 4 days for continuing to engage in edit warring across multiple articles, even while related arbitrartion was in progress. Records show DoctorPP (talk · contribs) registered on 3 June, 2 days after TingMing was blocked. Again, this is similar to past confirmed Nationalist socks who abruptly appeared after the last sock or suspected sock was blocked.
Additional notes (may or may not be relevent):
- DoctorPP's username may be a reference to the Democratic Progressive Party, a poltical party in Taiwan. Many past Nationalist sockpuppets have had politically inspired names, or names related somehow to Taiwan or the ROC, eg. Taiwanlove (talk · contribs), Chunghwa Pride (talk · contribs), Chunghwa Republic (talk · contribs), Central Mountain (talk · contribs).
- Nationalist sockpuppets display extensive familiarity with Wikipedia processes, including CheckUser, despite usually only having been registered for a few days as can be seen in the archived requests. Should DoctorPP post here it should be considered strong evidence of sockpuppetry, especially as he was not notified of this request and I have not interacted with him in any way. -Loren 09:01, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

- Code letter: F
I don't like revisiting something I just hate to get my hands on again, but it appears that I have to intervene once more as new user Central Mountain has already gotten into edit conflict with multiple users, such as Nlu, Niohe, and Ideogram. The conflict is still about the naming convention/conflict about Taiwan-related issues concerning the political status of Taiwan, and right now it's one user (Central Mountain) against other multiple editors.
I think I was just wasting your and my time above. To sum it up, his actions are very similar to that of Nationalist, who is still blocked until approximately March 17. To point out the similarity, Nationalist apparently idolizes Chiang Kai-shek as well as Sun Yat-sen in his talk page (Chinese; translator might help). In the following edits ([7] and followed by reverts stating that "His recognitions are really fact", [8]) Central Mountain is praising Chiang Kai-shek while criticizing the current government (which is Taiwan independence-oriented, and Nationalist has stated in his talk page that he is against independence) in a possible POV/OR tone (see also [9], [10]). Other edits also reflect the edit patterns Nationalist used to make along with his sockpuppets (e.g. [11], [12], [13]). Also, the fact that he made his first edit on Republic of China just two minutes after his account creation suggests his political motive that Nationalist has.
Quoted from Loren in the archive below: "If this is confirmed, this will be the third time Nationalist has attempted to evade administrative blocks using confirmed sockpuppets (even more times if you count unconfirmed socks), and further action may be required." Vic226 02:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Central Mountain (talk · contribs) has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet. The 1 month block on Nationalist (talk · contribs) has been reset in light of multiple use of sockpuppets for evasion. -Loren 06:43, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Requesting a checkuser on User:Morphi. This user has similar editing patterns to those of Nationalist. Like Nationalist, he/she like to emphasize the usage of the official name. Although this user is currently blocked for violating the 3RR, I found him/her similar to Nationalist. And I don't know if this would be helpful.--Jerrypp772000 23:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

This account was created right after Sid212 [a confirmed sockpuppet, see prior request] was blocked for sockpuppetry (see Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Nationalist (2nd)) by Nationalist (who is currently blocked for a month). As soon as the account was created, it immediately start making what can be contested as very similar POV edits that Nationalist/Taiwanlove/Sid212 had been pushing. This account also tackles on similar articles in which Nationalist have been edit warring on POV edits. Vic226 05:50, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

- And I never asked this user if he/she is one of Nationalist's sock puppet, I only asked him/her to discuss first before editing the Taiwan-related articles, and here's the response I got. I thought that was really suspicious.--Jerrypp772000 15:14, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

- Hey, thanks for taking the trouble. I wonder if you could also check on User:NiceGuy81, whose account was created only shortly after Chunghwa Pride was blocked for sockpuppetry by Nationalist. Its contributions are also hitting right on the Taiwan-related articles and making the same POV-pushing edits as those of Nationalist and all of his sockpuppets. Thanks, Vic226 09:13, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Also, I was wondering if an IP block is now appropriate for Nationalist along with his sockpuppets. This has been a long-term problem for us since he refuses to reach a consensus peacefully with us and insist on pushing his own POV all over the Taiwan articles in Wikipedia. As you can see, he just creates another account after his last sockpuppet was (again) blocked, a blatant move on disregarding Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Vic226 09:21, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- He's found new sockies in a new range. I've rangeblocked there. So far there's just one on his usual haunt. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 18:36, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi (not again), Jerrypp772000 noticed activities from User:Taiwan53 very similar to those of Nationalist. After he had created his account, he made his first edit right on Township (Taiwan) in less than one minute, and it was followed up with several other edits on Taiwan-related articles. We're afraid that this is yet another code-F RfCU. Vic226 02:32, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- What made I think that he/she might be a sock puppet of Nationalist is that he/she edited Council for Hakka Affairs, an article I created. That article is a stub and few people know its existence. There had been only 3 users editing that page, Nationalist('s sock puppets), me, and Wenzi. And this new user's editing pattern is similar to that of Nationalist.--Jerrypp772000 02:53, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Confirmed that Taiwan53 matches Nationalist, Sid212, and a couple I'm not sure I've seen before. Mistake removed.--jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 16:54, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Requesting a checkuser on Chunghwa Republic (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser), registered on 2-18-2007, shortly after User:Nationalist's last sock was blocked. His/her editing patterns and choice of username are very similar to those of User:Nationalist and his/her confirmed sockpuppets. The fact that this user immediately demanded an IP check after being blocked suggests a strong farmiliarity with Wikipedia, and is consistant with past behavior of other confirmed socks used by Nationalist. If this is confirmed, this will be the third time Nationalist has attempted to evade administrative blocks using confirmed sockpuppets (even more times if you count unconfirmed socks), and further action may be required. -Loren 10:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

This is directly copied from Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Nationalist:
After Nationalist was blocked the fifth time, User:Sid212, who is currently suspected as a "likely" sockpuppet of Nationalist, became active again a few days later. Before that, Sid212 became inactive after this edit when Nationalist made his first edit (compare its time with that of the previous edit) after his fourth block was expired.
Sid212 has been checked before by jpgordon, and the result was likely but not confirmed. The following is the exact quotation of him:
- Likely for Sid12. It's a shared IP of some sort, but Sid12 and Nationalist are among the very small number of editors there. Sid12 has also used open proxies in the past. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 04:27, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I wonder if it is possible to recheck further on Sid212, or maybe it's only a waste of time. Since I'm not sure, I made the above request again just to be on the safe side. Thanks, Vic226 02:27, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

I suspect User:Nationalist has used User:Taiwanlove as sockpuppet to evade the 3RR violation based on this history of the article Chuang Chia-jung. Vic226(chat) 14:15, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Additional information needed Which block or 3RR warning is being evaded? --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 15:36, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- There is no 3RR block or warning for this history because Nationalist only reverted three times in there. However, he has had two records of 3RR violation, one blocked for the 3RR [14] and another blocked mainly for profanity [15] (he is currently blocked for personal attack). Vic226(chat) 17:35, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- I'm sorry to bother you when it's already declined, but I think there is some misunderstanding. I meant to say that, in the history link above, Nationalist might have used Taiwanlove to substitute his third revert on the article and make his fourth revert seem only the third. I was not trying to say that he used Taiwanlove to continue edit in Wikipedia after he's blocked.
-
- Also, I would like to provide a possible (I'm not quite sure what category F is asking for) proof now for my last sentence in the previous paragraph: his edit in the talk page violated personal attack, and was blocked, requested but denied for unblock. After the block (24 hours of duration), User:Taiwanlove became active, and started massive contributions on the same purpose (Taiwan-ROC relationship edits) and aggression as those of Nationalist. I don't know if this is valid, but their patterns are also extremely similar. See also Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets#User:Nationalist. Vic226(chat) 04:49, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- One more thing to add: this diff looks a bit strange if you look closely. My comment was specific only on Nationalist's comment above, indicating that he is also tagging ROC everywhere (it may or may not be the right accusation, but that's not important). However, Taiwanlove responded for Nationalist, claiming that he (Taiwanlove) is not tagging everything. Here's the exact quote: "I am not tagging everything." Vic226(chat) 05:14, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- Confirmed upon reconsideration. The problem was there were very few edits when this was first posted, so I was disinclined to pursue what was then a trivial case. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 17:03, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- I gratefully appreciate your reconsideration. I just found another user Sid212 that could be another sockpuppet of Nationalist. Would you look into that? The following evidences are copy-pasted from Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Nationalist (2nd):
- Nationalist has the record of using sockpuppet to circumvent 3RR violation and block. See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Nationalist
- There is also a history of completed CheckUser case: Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Nationalist
- The contributions of Sid212, as a new user, focus on similar areas to that of Nationalist.
- Nationalist is currently blocked for 72 hours since 00:25, 2007 January 30 (UTC) by Cbrown1023, and there was a significant amount of activity previously by his first sockpuppet Taiwanlove during Nationalist's 3rd block for personal attacks. Plus, Nationalist (under the name Taiwanlove) shows that his attitude and behavior was unchanged even after he is blocked for three times before. According to the indications above, it is possible for Nationalist to continue such disruptive behavior to Wikipedia with another sockpuppet, provided above.
(Also, I wonder why would a new user head straight to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese) among all Wikipedia policies and guidelines, as shown here.
Thanks in advance for taking the trouble! Vic226(chat) 04:10, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
