[edit] Notability of Yu Fang-chih

A tag has been placed on Yu Fang-chih requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 10:40, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] March 2008

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Jolin Tsai. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you. Pandacomics (talk) 03:15, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Just because she has a political affiliation doesn't mean it's relevant for the article. What impact does her political affiliation have on her career? None. Is it important to note at all? No. The only time it's important is if the political affiliation has repercussions. For example, A-mei's pro-Taiwanese Independence stance jeopardized her career when she sang the National Anthem of the Republic of China. How did it jeopardize her career? She was banned from performing in the PRC. Same with the Dixie Chicks and their anti-Bush stance. They stood up against Bush, and their careers suffered temporarily because of it. There has been absolutely no consequence of Jolin Tsai being pro-KMT or DPP or whatever. I am going to continue keeping this info off of her page simply because it is not relevant to her career. Pandacomics (talk) 07:32, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Because she's not a politician. Her career matters much more because, quite simply put, she's a musician. Politicians have most of their info based on their political career. Secondly, referring to what I had said before, unless political stance makes a difference in sales (e.g. A-mei being banned by the PRC), then it should not be included because it has no effect on her career. Let's say Jolin Tsai supports the DPP, and advocates fervently for the independence of Taiwan. The PRC then says, "Ms. Tsai, you're being a pain in the butt. Please never sell your CDs here again." Jolin Tsai's next album then sells poorly, and all of a sudden, she's no longer popular enough to stay in the show business. That is an example, albeit hypothetical, of political information that would be okay to put in the article. Why? Cause, in the example, her political stance ruined her career. Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Ma Ying-jeou. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Jerrch 01:20, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Chuang Kuo-rong, you will be blocked from editing. The article is about a living person, therefore any unsourced statements must be removed to prevent violating WP:BLP or WP:NOR. Thank you.--Jerrch 20:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chuang Kuo-rong

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chuang Kuo-rong. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --Jerrch 00:31, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Frank Hsieh

I have nothing against the unsourced statements you added to Frank Hsieh, I simply removed them because they are unsourced. However, please don't revert my edit because I actually added information and references to other parts of the article, which are definitely not vandalism. Thank you.--Jerrch 02:11, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Empire of Japan

Hi, can you stop adding Empire of Japan to the article Chai Trong-rong? It is under current conventions to not include the political entities under the birthplace field. Thank you!--Jerrch 03:26, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] TPE article rename

Hi, I see that you renamed the article of TPE's airport. I have moved the article back to its original name to "Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport" as it is the official name of the airport not "Taoyuan CKS International Airport". However if you feel the article should be renamed "Taoyuan CKS International Airport", please discuss it on the article's talk page or at WP:AIRPORTS. Please don't just rename the article without getting a consensus. Cheers! Audude08 (talk) 15:59, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow or move it unilaterally while discussion about it is underway, as you did to Economic history of Taiwan. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you.--Jerrch 16:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Martyr's Shrine

A tag has been placed on Martyr's Shrine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jerrch 16:36, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Warning notice

While I understand you may be enthusiastic about editing articles pertaining to Taiwan and the ROC, there ARE Wikipedia policies to prevent articles from straying from the purely factual. It is apparent you have been warned multiple times over uncited additions and moving articles. If this persists, you will be reported to the admin noticeboard. Please stop. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Economic history of Taiwan, you will be blocked from editing. --Jerrch 18:21, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Stop moving the TPE article. Butterfly0fdoom (talk) 00:55, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Its offical name is "Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport" not "Taoyuan CKS International Airport". Like I said before, please discuss before moving. Audude08 (talk) 02:32, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
