Red Mango is a frozen yogurt chain founded in South Korea in 2002 that has gained popularity in the United States. The company is known for using natural ingredients in making "authentic frozen yogurt" that is both tart and creamy. Red Mango frozen yogurt is also considered to be healthy — the company announced in 2007 that it became the first retailer of natural frozen yogurt to receive the National Yogurt Association's Live and Active Culture Seal,[1] a certification given to yogurt manufacturers whose products have live and active culture counts in amounts that researchers have determined to have positive health benefits.[2]

Red Mango opened its first stores in the United States in July 2007 in Los Angeles, California (Westwood Village near UCLA) and Las Vegas, Nevada. The company's first store in Washington State opened in October 2007 in Bellevue Square. The company currently has 25 locations, and according to USA Today, will soon expand at a rate of 2 stores per month across the United States.[3] Red Mango recently opened its first store in the San Francisco Bay Area in Palo Alto, CA.[4][5]
Since its opening, the Red Mango store in Westwood Village has become a popular frozen yogurt shop for UCLA students. Its main competitor is Pinkberry, which many frozen yogurt aficionados suggest is a copycat of Red Mango.[6]
Red Mango currently has US offices in Sherman Oaks, California.

Daniel J. Kim is the president and CEO of Red Mango. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and a former investment banker.
The company's investors and advisors include movie producer John Davis who is the son of Marvin Davis, movie producer Roy Lee, and Stone Canyon Venture Partners.
