[edit] My account creating
Hi, I am the one who can't creat accounts. After I tried to create an account and pressed ENTER, there came a message "Login error:Username entered already in use. Please choose a different name". But I'm sure that I've used an usename that no one used before because I've tried a lot of different usename. And what should I do right now? Can anyone help me to create an account? --61.239.132.111 09:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Paul Collingwood
Would you be interesting in creating one of your wonderful career graphs for Paul Collingwood? A few people at WP:CRIC are pushing the article towards FA status, and one of the suggestions is to have one of them. I guess an ODI performance one would be best, but if you can do two, even better? Alternatively, if you can give me a few hints as to the best way to go about creating one myself (esp with regard to the svg formatting) I will attempt creating one myself. Cheers →Ollie (talk • contribs) 17:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks for your input here. The graphs are a nice addition to any article! →Ollie (talk • contribs) 00:29, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Harbhajan Singh
Hello Raven4x4x. I was wondering if you could create some statistical diagrams for Harbhajan. I believe that it is on track to become an FA in the near future. Thanks for your hard work on the statistical work in the past. Regards, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:02, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I was wondering if you make bowling average diagrams or wicket taking diagrams? BTW, Stan McCabe is now a GA. :) Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I've never tried to make a bowling graph. I'm just not sure how I would best go about it. Obviously the wickets would be easy to do, but I'm not sure how to work the bowling average into the graph. Doing it just like the batting graphs wouldn't look all that great, as a bowler can of course never take more than 10 wickets in an innings but the bowling average might frequently be up around 30 or more. I don't know how I could get that looking good, but I'm happy to fiddle around and see if I can come up with something.
Thanks for telling me about Stan McCabe too, but I can't really take any of the credit. If I didn't start it someone else would have eventually, and it's looking a lot different now from my first version... Raven4x4x 06:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, well maybe wickets as the vertical bars and an average line, although that would mean that the worm bends down when the wickets go up (generally speaking, although you could take many wickets for many many runs in some cases....). How does that work? Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:21, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Lt Mike Hunter, aviator
Just as a follow-up, the nomination was intended to be a set nomination, similar to Mandelbrot set and Bezier curves. It looks like I was under the (false) impression that those set nominations are more common, so my intention never translated in the discussion. Did you decide to not promote Image:Lt Mike Hunter 2.jpg based on the responses? There are some comments which read like #1 was preferred, but #2 never got any outright opposition. ~ trialsanderrors 19:44, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adam Gilchrist
Hello Raven4x4x, I come, cap in hand, to borrow your skills for the world of cricket graphs again. Can you do an ODI performance chart for Gilly please? I think your Test chart is up to date enough, but we don't seem to have an ODI chart. I'm pushing to get this article up to GA/FA so it'd be good to make it's appearance and content consistent with Paul Collingwood's, as that seems to be doing okay in the FA discussion. Cheers! [edit] Bart King Graph
Greetings! I've been working on the article for John Barton King, arguably the greatest cricketer ever to come out of the good ol' USA. I've got the article up for its second Peer Review and one editor has suggested a chart of his scores over his career. When I posted this request at the wikiproject, it was suggested that I contact you. So here I am. Would it be possible to produce a chart of the scores of Bart King over the course of his first-class career? I would very much appreciate any help you can give, as you've declared this to be "your thing." Thanks so much for yuor time.--Eva bd 13:33, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick affirmative response. Please take your time, I'm not in a hurry. Have a good day.--Eva bd 12:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Another day, another graph
Hi Raven4x4x, a while ago you did a couple of graphs for Adam Gilchrist and he ended up on the main page on Saturday, and broke a couple of world records to boot! So, another favour, if I may be so bold... averages for a certain Bill O'Reilly (cricketer) - his stats guru page is here. Thanks, in advance... Oh, and is there anything interesting we could do with his bowling stats? Cheers! The Rambling Man 10:15, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Have a cricket ball
As a huge cricket fan, I'm often looking at the articles about cricket players that are on here (Don Bradman's average still makes me queasy!) and I see your batting graphs everywhere. I think it's outstanding, and one of the most excellent contributions that I've seen on wikipedia from anyone. Shows real dedication and the right attitude, so...

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Euro Construction.svg, by Strangerer, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Euro Construction.svg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

[edit] Kevin Pietersen
Is there any possibility you could create one of your lovely graphs for Pietersen's ODI stats? We're pushing it towards FA, so it'd be good to have. If you don't have the time, then don't worry. Many thanks. Trebor 02:14, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- I was just going to ask that too! Also, can you update the test performance graph, possibly after the current test is over? Cheers –MDCollins (talk) 09:20, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] When closing featured picture nominations...
Please make sure that they have received a decent number of votes and a clear consensus, and when an image is ready to be removed, make sure you actually remove it from the WP:FPC page (the nominations you recently closed are all still up there). Of the ones you closed:
- Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Whale Shark had 63% support, which is enough to keep it up for voting, particularly in the "requiring additional input" section.
- Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Dark matter had 75% support, but you still didn't promote it. Either way, it only had 4 votes -- it should have been kept up.
- Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Filipino casualties on the first day of war only had 5 votes, you don't have to delist images immediately following the seventh day.
- Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Shallow water waves 250px.gif was prematurely closed, as hardly anyone commented on the new, larger version.
So, I'm going to have to ask you to revert your promotions on the above images (I don't want to have to go through all of those pages and be forced to delist them myself). Give them more time to be properly voted on. ♠ SG →Talk 13:38, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, it has become a bit more complicated over the past few months (even though the actual nomination process has become simpler). Anyhow, thanks! I hope I didn't come off like a dick or anything. ♠ SG →Talk 03:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Promoted Fulmer_Falls picture
Hello, Raven, You've closed the Picrure and it was promoted, but it does not look that it has a free licence. He is advertising a sale of the images and gives his e-mail in case somebody wants to buy it. I'd say it is very wrong to promote pictures like that. I wonder what do you think? --04:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Mbz1

[edit] White Shark FP
Thank you for your efforts with my white shark pic - I have so little patience for the aftermath of my work, I just want to get out there and shoot more! (and then I'd be stuck with the aftermath again, but oh well....) I'll try to get around to doing a user page soon, but I'm also struggling to get to work on the rest of the pics. Thanks again for all your efforts with the images, and thanks to everyone else who aided and abetted my new FP status. Cheers! Pterantula 00:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Raven,
Thanks for the advice I just did that. I decided to whack in a search for my crepuscular ray sunset image which got stolen a couple of weeks ago and sure enough: [1] and going into the user's locations photo set we find a mass of WP:FPC's being used: [2]. I'll put a notice on WP:FPC talk page to alert some of the users, but perhaps if you've got time you could chase up a few individuals? (i just don't have the time these days). I think I'll do a few more searches.... --Fir0002 06:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WOW!!!
jeez your are a dedicated person!
I wish to thank you for all the work you have done on your cricket graphs. Many countless times they have answered my curiosity in regards to things like how past batting great's careers played out and also looking at current batsmen's peaks and form, etc. It is a much better and simpler way of looking at it that reading the actually numbers and that.
On another note, I have some requests...that is if its not to much trouble. I would like to see a ODI graph for Sachin Tendulkar if it is possible (I noticed you did one for Adam Gilchrist and I believe seeing everything that Sachin had accomplished in ODI's he deserves one). This would be great to see how his very long and very fruitful career in ODI's has played out.
I would also like to make a comment about your 'past ten innings average'. This is a very helpful addition to your graphs as it better helps to determine player's form, etc. However, I do have some suggestions as to how it could be improved. The trouble is that a century ten innings ago still keeps that average up reasonably well. But a triple hundred eleven innings ago does nothing to help it. I was thinking that (if it is even possible to do that is) instead of getting the average of the last ten innings, weight say the last 15 innings in accordance to how recent they are. Example, the previous innings gets a 100 percent weighting, five innings ago might get a 70 percent weighting, 10 innings ago might get a 40 percent weighting, and so on and so forth. This could help to make the form guide more accurate. But it is just a suggestion, I'm not trying to criticise your great work and if it is too much trouble do not even worry about it.
Anyways...thank you for all your hard work...!
[edit] Thank you!!
Thank you very much on your advice on how to respond. I wasn't quite sure if I had read it correctly. Thank you!!
