Prasoon Joshi, (b. 1971) is a Indian advertising professional, Bollywood film lyricists and a dialogue and screenwriter in Bollywood, who won Filmfare Best Lyricist Award, consecutively in 2007 and 2008.

Prasoon Joshi was born 16 September 1971 at Almora in Uttaranchal, India, where he spent a part of his childhood, followed by Rampur, Uttar Pradesh [1].

After his schooling he did his MBA from Institute of Management Technology, a business school located in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, India.

During his MBA education he was steer clear about his career in Advertising. He shun a lot many lucrative offer that he got after MBA from the prestigious IMT G. He struggled a lot in order to get into any advertisment firm.

He started his career with Ogilvy & Mather (O&M), and after working there for over 10 years, he joined McCann-Erickson, in early 2002.

Today, he is the Chairman (Asia Pacific) for McCann-Erickson for south and south-east Asia, as well as a lyricist for many popular Bollywood movies; among them Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Black and Hum Tum, and has also created many advertisements; because of which he has earned the title of "the ad Guru of India".
