Paul Newlove (born 10 August 1971, Pontefract) was a rugby league player in the Super League competition, who featured as a centre. He played for the St Helens during a successful 8 year period with the club.
Newlove began his career at Featherstone Rovers in 1988 before moving on to play for Bradford Northern five years later.
Paul Newlove is still one of the most expensive rugby league transfers. Saints smashed the world record on 29 November 1995, when they paid Bradford Northern £250,000 cash and sent Sonny Nickle, Bernard Dwyer and Paul Loughlin to Odsal.
Newlove spent 9 seasons at Saints, lifting many trophies throughout a glittering Knowsley Road career.
Paul Newlove was a Great Britain international. Newlove also represented England at the 1995 Rugby League World Cup. Newlove was not selected for England at the 2000 Rugby League World Cup. He has also represented Yorkshire in the Origin Series.
