New York State Route 125 (NY 125) is a 7.50-mile long north/south state highway in Westchester County, New York. The route begins just outside the village of Larchmont at U.S. Route 1 and ends within the city of White Plains at New York State Route 22.
The route was once proposed to be realigned to the Bronx-White Plains Expressway.[2]

[edit] Route description
NY 125 begins in the Town of Mamaroneck (just outside the village of Larchmont) at U.S. Route 1 as Weaver Street. The route heads north and travels along the border between the city of New Rochelle and the village of Scarsdale. NY 125 has an interchange with the Hutchinson River Parkway in this area. Near the end of Weaver Street the Heathcote Bypass splits off. The portion between the Mamaroneck town line and the junction with the Hutchinson River Parkway is county-maintained (designated but not signed as County Route 129).
In Scarsdale, it then follows Palmer Avenue and Secor Road heading into the city of White Plains. In White Plains, the road becomes Old Mamaroneck Road. Old Mamaroneck Road is an unsigned county route with the designation County Route 26. Old Mamaroneck Road then merges onto Mamaroneck Avenue, with NY 125 ending at NY 22 (Post Road). This northernmost section is maintained by the city of White Plains.
[edit] Heathcote Bypass
The Heathcote Bypass is a bypass running below the grade of a major intersection of five roads in Scarsdale, New York locally called The Five Corners. It runs from Weaver Street to Secor Road both of which are signed NY 125. The road is on a right of way which used to be the path of the main line of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway. The right of way is still owned privately and there are still some of the old railroad markers along the way. Its entire 1.13 mile length is unsigned County Route 143. Near the south end, at intersection level, is the Heathcote Station building, now housing the Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

NY 125 was first designated in the 1930 state highway renumbering. Its original northern end was at the intersection with Mamaroneck Avenue, which was then a state highway with designation New York State Route 126. By the mid-1930s, NY 126 was reassigned to a completely different route while Mamaroneck Avenue was turned over to Westchester County.
