Neos S.p.A. is an airline based in Milan in Italy. It operates leisure flights to southern Europe, Russia, Africa, Middle East, Far East, the Caribbean, Mexico and Brazil. Its main base is Malpensa International Airport, Milan, with hubs at Bologna Airport and Verona Airport.[1]

Neos was established on 22 June 2001 and started operations on 8 March 2002. It was started as a joint venture between Alpitour parent firm Finanziaria di Partecipazioni (IFIL), which is controlled by the Agnelli Group and the German tour operator, TUI. Since January 2004, Neos has been controlled by Alpitour (99.99%) and Welcome Travel Group (0.01%). It has 330 employees (at March 2007).[1]

On November 4, 2005 the airline started 4 weekly flights from Milan-Malpensa to Cuban resorts of Havana, Varadero, Santiago de Cuba, Cayo Largo and Varadero and Jamaica in Montego Bay The airline has also sarted charter flights to the Mexican cities of Cancun and Cozumel.[2]

Neos leased both of its Boeing 767 aircraft during the summer season of 2007 to Scottish airline Flyglobespan to operate its long haul destinations. In 2008 one Boeing 767 will be leased to the Belgian airline Jetairfly, part of the TUI-group to strengthen its long haul operations.
