[edit] Image attribution error during transwiki
I am writing in reference to commons:Image:Canal 035.jpg. I originally uploaded it to English Wikipedia in January 2003. Then, in October 2007, it was transwikied to Commons and original attribution for the image was given to "Mintguy". All Mintguy ever did was to pointlessly lower the size of the image (I guess he wasn't aware of how the thumbnail system worked?), a change that was later reverted. As you can understand, I'm kind of upset that he was given attribution for the photograph when in actuality the only people who deserve any credit for this photograph are me, for being at the falls and taking it, and Brian0918, for some later post-processing. I've corrected the error, but this has left me concerned enough to go back and check all of my previous image uploads to verify that credit to me hasn't disappeared on any of them. I would urge you and anyone else involved in the transwiki process to be a lot more careful. You have to look at the history of image description page, including all deleted revisions, to make sure you know the whole story. --Cyde Weys 14:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, Cyde. Attribution information is copied automatically by BetacommandBot from file history which listed Mintguy as original uploader. It seems that there is a missing file upload entry which caused that error. As I can see you have already corrected attribution info on Commons, so I guess that this settles this issue. Cheers! --Meno25 (talk) 16:19, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Hm, this update seem to remove a lot of good interwikis. Why? --Eivind (t) 12:31, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- To resolve an interwiki conflict between the two pages Wikipedia:Bots and Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval. --Meno25 (talk) 12:42, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

- The same happened in ka.wikipedia, too. - Island (talk) 13:37, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
