Maryland Route 313 is a lengthy two-lane north-south route on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Traveling south from Galena in Kent County, the road winds through four counties, ending in Wicomico County at Mardela Springs. It intersects U.S. Route 301 in Maryland in the north and U.S. Route 50 in Maryland in the south. MD 313 is perhaps most depended on by Caroline County - passing through the three most populated towns including the county seat of Denton.
[edit] Wicomico County
Maryland Route 313 begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 50 in Mardela Springs, where the route heads east along Delmar Road for a short distance. It then turns north onto Sharptown Road and Delmar Road continues east as Maryland Route 54, which heads toward the Delaware-Maryland state line town of Delmar, straddling along the state line and into Delaware as Delaware Route 54. Maryland Route 313 itself continues north to Sharptown, where it intersects Maryland Route 348 and then crosses the Nanticoke River into Dorchester County.

Upon entering Dorchester County, the route runs in a northwesterly direction to the town of Eldorado, where it meets the eastern terminus of Maryland Route 14. Maryland Route 313 then turns north and takes on the name of Eldorado Road. It intersects Maryland Route 392 in Finchville and then intersects the northern terminus of Maryland Route 577 in Allens Corner.

The highway enters Caroline County and takes on the name of Reliance Road as it heads toward the town of Federalsburg. Maryland Route 313 bypasses the town to the south and west on the Federalsburg Bypass, along with Maryland Route 318. The bypass route features a roundabout with Maryland Route 307 on the southwestern corner of Federalsburg. On the western edge of Federalsburg, Maryland Route 318 heads west on Preston Road and Maryland Route 313 continues north along the Federalsburg Highway.
In Andersontown, Maryland Route 313 meets Maryland Route 16 and Maryland Route 404, the Shore Highway, which constitutes the main route between the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the Delaware beaches. It makes a left turn onto that road, forming a three-route concurrency with Routes 16 and 404. Maryland Route 16 eventually turns off to the southwest, and 313 and 404 continue north to the Caroline County seat of Denton. The two routes bypass the central part of Denton to the north and east along the four-lane, divided Denton Bypass. The former routings of MD 313 and MD 404 through town are signed as Maryland Route 619 and Maryland Route 404 Business, respectively. Maryland Route 313 leaves the Denton Bypass by exiting at a diamond interchange and heading north on Greensboro Road.
The route heads north, intersecting the western terminus of Maryland Route 317. It then reaches the town of Greensboro, where Maryland Route 313 intersects Maryland Route 314 and then the eastern terminus of Maryland Route 480 just north of town. The road then passes through the town of Goldsboro, where it intersects two state routes: Maryland Route 311, which heads north toward Marydel and Maryland Route 287, which heads east toward the Delaware border where it becomes Delaware Route 10.
Past Goldsboro, Maryland Route 313 turns to the northwest on Goldsboro Road. It intersects the northern terminus of Maryland Route 312 in Baltimore Corner and then crosses into Queen Anne's County.

The route turns for a more northerly course upon entering Queen Anne’s County. Maryland Route 313 intersects the eastern terminus of Maryland Route 19 in Ingleside and then heads north to the town of Barclay where it intersects Maryland Route 302. The route then heads for Sudlersville, where it passes through the town on Church Street and where it intersects Maryland Route 300. Upon leaving Sudlersville, Maryland Route 313 changes its name to Millington Road. It intersects the eastern terminus of Maryland Route 544 a short distance east of U.S. Route 301 and then crosses the Chester River into Kent County.

Maryland Route 313 passes through the town of Millington, where it crosses Maryland Route 291. It leaves town to the north on Galena Road. Maryland Route 313 then reaches Massey, where it makes a left turn, retaining the name Galena Road. It is here that Maryland Route 299 continues to the north toward Sassafras and Maryland Route 330 heads east for Delaware.
Maryland Route 313 heads in a westerly direction, where it meets the multi-lane, divided U.S. Route 301. Maryland Route 313’s intersection with US 301 is like that of a few other highways that cross US 301 on the Eastern Shore in that traffic cannot continue directly across and must use a reversing loop on US 301. Past the US 301 intersection, the route heads west toward Maryland Route 290. The two routes continue north together into Galena, where Maryland Route 313 ends at an intersection with Maryland Route 213 in the center of town and Maryland Route 290 turns to the east.

- MD 313 is approximately 75 miles long, making it second in length in the state. Only Maryland Route 2 is longer.
- The intersection between MD 313 and US 301 has been modified to prevent through traffic on the former from directly crossing the latter. Traffic must turn right onto US 301, use a reversing loop in the median and make a second right turn to continue on MD 313.
- MD 313 overlaps with MD 404 on the Denton Bypass, a four-lane divided expressway.
