Martin Hardie (born April 22, 1976 in Alexandria) is a Scottish football midfielder, currently playing for St. Johnstone. He signed for the Perth club, his sixth in ten years, during the January 2006 transfer window from Airdrie.

Hardie was suspended for the opening game of the 2006/7 season, but he marked his debut for the club just three days later with a goal in a 3-1 win over East Fife in the League Cup.[1]

On January 27, 2007, Hardie scored late winner for second-placed St. Johnstone against top-of-the-table Gretna at McDiarmid Park. The win closed the gap between the two teams to nine points.[2]

On February 10, 2007, Hardie was sent off for a second bookable offence in a 2-1 defeat to Tayside rivals Dundee at Dens Park.[3]

Hardie was named Division One's Player of the Month for March 2007.[4]

On April 20, 2008, during a Scottish Cup semi final against Rangers, Hardie deliberately stamped on Rangers' Steven Naismith's knee, damaging the players cruciate ligament and leaving Naismith facing 14 months off the field. The challenge has enraged the majority of the Ibrox support who have been very vocal in their anger.
