Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was released in 1998, while The Nightmare Before Christmas premiered in 1993. It is unlikely that the names are based on the film, unless the film was based in a novel. I have not found yet any clue that this novel exists, so probably this section should be erased (and probably added to the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels article). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.43.237.98 (talk • contribs)

As TNBC was made before Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, it's likely not a movie reference. Their names are a play on the phrase 'lock, stock, and barrel' - a term meaning 'all; everything; total', seeing as how the three form a group. (Additionally, the aforementioned term itself is derived from the key components of a musket.) MsDevin92 04:20, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Oogie's "Boys"

When Jack calls for the three, he calls them "Oogie's Boys". If one of them is really a girl, why would they say "Boys"? Unless I've heard wrong for the last 13 years. PureSoldier 12:45, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

It's most likely because two of the three are boys, I guess. And no, you heard correctly. --Releeshan 21:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

It's a figure of speech. Example- people refer to groups as 'guys', even when girls are present. MsDevin92 04:16, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Theories

I just found a section in Barrel's portion of the article where it was suggested he might be Oogie's son. I deleted it- the source was mistaken. The quote in question was: "Barrel, my PRODIGAL son". It's simply a figure of speech, and not meant to be taken seriously. MsDevin92 04:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

It says that Lock, Shock, and Barrel are 6, 7, and 5, respectively. When the heck were their ages mentioned? (They seem older than that, anyway...)
