Liberty Township is one of the thirteen townships of Clinton County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 1,033 people in the township, 775 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township,[3] up from 840 in 1990.[citation needed]

Located in the northern part of the county, it borders the following townships:
- Jefferson Township, Greene County - northeast
- Wilson Township - east
- Union Township - south
- Chester Township - west
- Caesarscreek Township, Greene County - northwest
It is located in the north central part of the county on the Greene County line about halfway between Wilmington and Xenia.
The entire township lies in the Virginia Military District.
The village of Port William is located in northern Liberty Township.

Major roads in Liberty Township include Interstate 71, U.S. Route 68, and State Route 134.

It is one of twenty-five Liberty Townships statewide.
[edit] Government
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
