The first step in expansion began in the first year of the Taisho period with the development of the Meitetsu Inuyama train line. Later in the 30 th year of the Showa period, there was a population boost accommodating the cities' expansion. In the 36 th year of the Showa period, the town of Shikatsu, in the 38th year (of the Showa period), the town of Nishiharu were born due to enforced industrialization. Since then, the towns have continued to develop, renown as Nagoya City's commuter and urban agricultural towns.[1]

The National Highway 22 runs along the western side of the city, and close by is the National Highways 41 and 302, Meishin Toll Road, Nagoya Toll Road 11 Komaki line, Higashi meihan Automobile Road as well. The Nagoya Toll Road 16, the Ichinomiya line, has been recently established, allowing faster access to the Nagoya Airport and creating a more traffic friendly environment.[2]
