[edit] magic

hi im just working to dont reveal magic. That is exposure that destroys an art and also violates copyrights. Please understand! Rafagoto

[edit] Thanks!

It's nice to know someone other than me notices the writing I do for Wikipedia. I have a foolish plan to write at least a stub for every player on the Chicago Cubs all-time roster who doesn't currently have a page. When one doesn't have to work during the summer, one can make such silly goals. I appreciate the kudos. Mickcullen (talk) 22:36, 20 May 2008

[edit] West Point Sword history 1802 to today

Hello, I just posted USMA west point swords history 1802 to today, it has been changed several times since I posted it, I have no problem with that, I so have several photos that went along with this story that I have taken and others that I have permission to use from a Les Jensen who is employed as a historian at U.S.M.A, I was able to put this together from general information, and other information like Cadet Gray by Fredrick Todd. I have had this story up and running as an ebay guide for over a year it can be viewed at

http://reviews.ebay.com/USMA-West-Point-Sword-history-1802-to-today_W0QQugidZ10000000002580709

My Problem is I do not know how to post this information to the story, any Help that you might be able to give me would be very helpful. Andy2159 (talk) 15:54, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Graf & Sons

Sorry, didn't realize the Graf & Sons article would be taken as advertising, there was a link to it so I went ahead & made one. I would argue that companies such as Hornady or Winchester are represented, but Grafs doesn't have the history that they do and I'm not sure enough could be added to actually make an article. ^_^ Tengu99 (talk) 16:46, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Justpassin,

Any help you could give me as far keeping this bio from being deleted would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very good at navigating/posting on wikipedia, so I keep having trouble with the postings. Thanks so much for your help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rdeluca03 (talkcontribs) 20:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Honestly, I don't see how the article is salvagable as it is. It might be easier to let it get deleted and start over using wikipedian guidelines (ie, state notability and don't make it sound like a resume this time). However, if you wish, PROD deletion tags are the only deletion tags that you can take down, however I will forewarn you that I may take to Articles for Deletion. --Justpassin (talk) 22:27, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chasing Canadia

Hiya. I see you left a message regarding the deletion of Chasing Canadia on my talk page - thoughtful, but possibly a little case of overkill, as my only contribution to that article was to tag it for speedy deletion ! :-) I don't know how you decided which editors to notify, but if it's an automated tool, I think a quick word with the author might be in order. Cheers :-) CultureDrone (talk) 06:47, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I just wanted you to know that it was, in fact, being nominated for deletion, since you obvisouly wanted it to be deleted. But yeah, I can see where it would be aganist WP:CANVASS. Sorry about that, and thanks. --Justpassin (talk) 19:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey - no problem - I was just surprised, not annoyed :-) CultureDrone (talk) 19:48, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Just to show no hard feelings !! CultureDrone (talk) 20:01, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Mihran zabonian

Re your message: It appears that you discovered the answer to that one on your own. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:17, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes. It appears that sie knows what sie is doing. I think sie should be blcoked if sie recreates the article, since sie isn't acting in good faith, obiviously, but that's just my opinion. --Justpassin (talk) 05:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I usually don't block attack page writers on the second recreation unless the attack page is horribly bad. If he creates it again, we'll see what happens. The editor got rather bombarded with warnings, so hopefully they get the point and stop.
As for the length of my talk page, it is getting rather long. I usually archive quarterly, but this year, my talk page has been particularly active and lengthy for some unknown reason. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, honestly, you might want to archive more often this year. --Justpassin (talk) 05:42, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I think last quarter I archived mid-quarter. Eh, I'll get to it. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the cookie. =) Of course, you're just making my talk page longer. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:54, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I know that :-D! Enjoy. --Justpassin (talk) 05:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
11 threads and 10K better? =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 16:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, wow, thanks, it looks much, much better now! I know you don't mind, sorry for being so blunt. Have you considered some sort of archive bot like cluebot III, or miszabot III, or something? --Justpassin (talk) 19:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Considered it. Don't like it. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to archive them myself. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lupus et Agnus

Hello friend. I'm not familiar with all of the guidelines of Wikipedia, but I noticed a message on my user page related to the template Template:Lupus et Agnus. This is a fable written by Phaedrus who lived between 15 BC and AD 50.

In response to the message I received:

1. I did not copy and paste this from another Wikimedia project.
2. This was not "transwikied out to another project" (to my knowledge).

I'm not sure why this would be a copyright issue. My main objective was to show the source of the Gallo-siculo translations of this fable. I didn't know a fable of "common knowledge" belonged to any one person or project.

I'm not quite sure if I understand the problem at hand. Please advise me of how I may be able to continue to show the source of these fables. This is merely for comparative linguistic purposes only. The Latin original is an integral part of my work in showing the development of Gallo-Sicilian from Latin.

Thank you for your time. Cheers! --Zulux1 (talk) 05:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry about that. If you really think the deletion was illegimate, please go to deletion review and state your case there instead. --Justpassin (talk) 05:41, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

Didn't mean to. Kivar2 (talk) 14:42, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh, no, it's fine, we all make mistakes. :-) --Justpassin (talk) 14:43, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of The Muffia

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Muffia, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Muffia seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Muffia, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 15:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re:CSD notice

The article history for The Muffia lists you as the only editor. Did I miss something? // Chris (complaints)(contribs) 15:04, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, that's odd. I didn't create it. --Justpassin (talk) 15:05, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of User talk:Stop Obama Express

A tag has been placed on User talk:Stop Obama Express, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Dave1185 (talk) 01:05, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Xulicote (talk) 19:31, 8 June 2008 (UTC) Like this? And thanks for the help. I try to learn new things quickly so as to not be a bother to those more experienced, but sometimes it's a tad difficult. Thanks for the directions, though!

Yes, something like that, but usually we sign our names after the mesage, not before! No need to worry, you're getting there. You might be interested in this--Justpassin (talk) 19:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Out of interest

Any relation to user:justpassinby? Ironholds 18:54, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

No. None at all. I went out of my way to create a username that didn't sound like any account I might've had before. Why? --Justpassin (talk) 18:55, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Justwondrin. Simply the similar usernames, nothing else; of course he was a prolific vandal against one particular page, and your edits all seem to be very good, but i just wanted to make sure. Ironholds 18:59, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, like I said, no relation. --Justpassin (talk) 19:00, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] To Tb Basketball Fan

Please look at notability standards to see why your page was deleted, and if you actually think the company complies with that standard, please look at deletion review, but most of all, learn from this. Thank you. --Justpassin (talk) 21:07, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm making some changes after I received another message from someone that gave some advice.

Thanks Justpassin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tb Basketball Fan (talkcontribs) 21:12, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Can you tell me if the page is valid now? I added links to verify to back up my information. Let me know. Thanks!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tb Basketball Fan (talkcontribs) 21:23, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

The page looks much better now, and would, in fact, be a legit page. Do wikipedia a favor, though, and add {{US-company-stub}}, which would add the 'stub' (wikipedia jargon for 'short article') to the category "United States company stubs". Also, please sign your name after your message on discussion pages. --Justpassin (talk) 04:36, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Looks like all of that is done. When can it become a page now?

[edit] Tags

I see you haven't slacked off much in slapping tags on articles, despite my suggestion in your editor review that you do so. You might want to spent a few moments of time actually improving articles instead of defacing them with reminders for other people to improve them. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) (talk / cont) 04:48, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

For instance, on The Power and the Glory (film) you slapped on a "clarify" tag with a hidden comment asking for an explanation of the term "treatment", when five minutes work on your part would have turned up the article film treatment which could be wikilinked to the word. It's always better to do a little investigation before slapping a tag on something -- not only do you not unnecessarily deface the article, but you end up improving it as well. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) (talk / cont) 04:41, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bladen Lakes State Forest

I will be editing this entry for a while and I am still learning how to use the different editing tools on Wikipedia. Once I am done I would like to remove this "major editing" tag on top of the article, but at this time I don't know how to do it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ellchen1 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
