Jorge O'Neill

Jorge O'Neill (Lisbon, Encarnação, February 15, 1848 – February 11, 1925), was the head of the Clanaboy O'Neill dynasty, whose family has been in Portugal since the 18th century. He was officially recognized by the offices of arms throughout Europe as titular Prince and Count of Tyrone and Clanaboy and Representative of the Clan O'Neill, but he refused to use this title, using instead the style O'Neill of Clannaboy. He was the first son of the previous head Jorge Torlades O'Neill and wife and cousin Carolina Teresa O'Neill.
He was a Knight of the Order of Malta, a Peer of the Realm and a personal friend of King D. Carlos I.

Married to Maria Isabel Mazziotti da Costa Cordeiro Fernandes (Lisbon, São Julião (now extinct), January 4, 1855 – Lisbon, Encarnação, May 7, 1953), daughter of João Gregório Fernandes and wife Maria Isabel da Costa Cordeiro and great granddaughter of Italian Michele (Miguel) Mazziotti, whose name she received, the couple had four children:
- Hugo O'Neill
- Jorge Alberto O'Neill (December 6, 1875 – December 8, 1900), unmarried
- Maria Teresa O'Neill (Oeiras, Carnaxide, July 9, 1879 – Lisbon, December 15, 1958), married in Lisbon, January 27, 1898 to Dom António de Avilez de Almeida de Melo e Castro (Amadora or Lisbon, São Sebastião da Pedreira, January 27, 1876 – November 5, 1920), a Boy Nobleman of the Royal Household with exercise on the Palace, son of José Ferreira Pinto de Avilez Juzarte de Sousa Tavares or José de Avilez Ferreira Pinto Basto or José de Avilez Juzarte de Sousa Tavares, aldo a Boy Nobleman of the Royal Household with exercise on the Palace, of the Counts de Avilez and Viscounts do Reguengo, and first wife Dona Eugénia Maria Lobo de Almeida de Melo e Castro, daughter of the 8th and mother of the 9th Counts das Galveias, the couple had twelve children
- José Carlos Maria Félix Bernardo O'Neill (Lisbon, January 8, 1894 – February 2, 1965), married to Anna Werner, of German origin, the couple had two children:
- Jorge Bernardo Pedro Hugo O'Neill (Genève, February 22, 1937 –), married to Maria da Assunção Carrilho Ricardo da Costa
