Joel Cox is an American Academy Award-winning film editor. He is best known for collaborating with Clint Eastwood on 30 films.

Joel Cox is a member of American Cinema Editors.[1] He has been working in film since appearing as a baby in Random Harvest (1942).[2] Cox started in the mailroom at Warner Bros. in 1961.[3][4] He won the 1992 Academy Award for Film Editing for Unforgiven.[2]
His first film as an assistant editor was on the 1969 film The Wild Bunch directed by Sam Peckinpah. He has collaborated with Clint Eastwood on 30 films since the 1976 film The Outlaw Josey Wales. Eastwood has re-cut only one scene that Cox has put together in 30 years.[2] He is currently editing the 2008 film Changeling.
