João Henrique Pataco Tomás (born on 27 May 1975, in Oliveira do Bairro, Portugal) is a Portuguese footballer, playing as a striker for Portugal's SC Braga. He has been one of Portugal’s most consistent strikers over the past decade, with an ability to hit the net on a regular basis for a host of clubs.

Tomás achieved some notability playing for Académica Coimbra, earning the nickname of O Jardel de Coimbra (The Coimbra's Jardel) after Mário Jardel.

He subsequently played for SL Benfica, Real Betis, Vitória de Guimarães and SC Braga, to where he returned after a Qatari stint in 2006-07, where he represented Al-Arabi Sports Club, scoring eight goals in seventeen games, before switching to Al-Rayyan Sports Club in 2007. In the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 Portuguese Liga season he was the second top scorer in the league.

Tomás played 4 times for Portugal. His first game was in the 2-1 win over Israel, in a friendly match, on 15 November 2000. After a five and a half-year absence, he was recalled to the national team by Luiz Felipe Scolari, on May 22, 2007, playing in the 1-1 draw with a Kuwaiti club on June 5, in Kuwait City, and scoring the Portuguese goal.
