[edit] Re: Talk page redesign

I'm done to archive my talk page! Oh, and also I'm redesigned by talk page! Have a look, Meteoroid! I'm using a color scheme of the Codename: Kids Next Door cartoon which is credited for the KND logo. What do you think? Jigs41793 Talk/contribs 05:05, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked

You've been blocked for being a disruptive presence over on Image:Windows Media Player 11 XP.png. Please take the time to read up on WP:3RR and WP:EW. – Steel 17:36, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Revert to my version again

I revert to my version of my uploaded image, including the album art on the list pane and visualization -- because my latest version of my screenshot is much better than the Themodernizer's version. It IS IMPORTANT to keep this version as is. Ignore that 3rd-Party album art (just like the original screenshot by Harryboyles) so that the readers could show this. Jigs41793 Talk/contribs 09:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but you can NOT use images that demonstrate Windows XP with customizations. The next time you insert an inappropriate image, you will be blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia. —Meteoroid » 13:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reverts

This is just a friendly reminder to say that if you continue to fight over the WMP image you'll be blocked again. – Steel 18:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image discussion

Hey, I got the WMP 11 XP screenshot fully protected and I started up a discussion on the talk page so we can find a resolution to this problem. As someone who's been involved with the issue, your thoughts would help. See: Image talk:Windows Media Player 11 XP.png#Protected. Thanks. -/- Warren 17:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] March 2007

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Image:Windows Media Player 11 XP.png. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Thank you. zero » 01:14, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism to user pages

Hey, try to refrain from editing user pages, like you did a couple of times to Warren. Thanks. — Alex(T|C|E) 07:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalise the userpages of other users, you will be blocked. — zero » 12:44, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I was talking about my user page, too... — Alex(T|C|E) 03:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate the effort, just don't edit user pages without permission again. — Alex(T|C|E) 03:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Look, it's just the way Wikipedia works. User pages are not article pages, you can't edit them without permission. Even if you think it's a mess, or the user states it's a mess. — Alex(T|C|E) 03:26, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Just don't do it to others, either. — Alex(T|C|E) 03:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Ask the user on their talk page first. — Alex(T|C|E) 03:38, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

No, thanks. Just leave it as it is. — Alex(T|C|E) 04:07, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Just leave it as it is, please. Thanks. — Alex(T|C|E) 04:13, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Please, you don't have to redesign other peoples user pages. They have their own style, not yours. Thank you. — zero » 06:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Anti-Vandalism

Hey, you are starting to improve your behavior by reverting vandalism.

Hello, Jigs41793! Thank you for reverting vandalism to Wikipedia. After you revert, I would recommend also warning the users whose edits you revert on their talk pages with an appropriate template or custom message. This will serve to direct new users towards the sandbox, educate them about Wikipedia, and a stern warning to a vandal may prevent him or her from vandalizing again. Thanks! — zero » 01:46, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Please note that when you give out warnings to user talk pages, always substitute templates. For example: {{subst:Template Name}}. Thank you. — zero » 02:15, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey, thanks a lot for my new userpage. I have got lots of space now, that I can go in and fill. Yay. :) --soum (0_o) 19:06, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
I am sorry I had to undo that. If you plan on trying again, you might wanna create a sandbox subpage for this purpose and put up your design there first. That way, I can chip in and offer my inputs on what I like and don't so that I dont have to revert it again. Btw, your new sig looks much better. :) --soum (0_o) 00:01, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey I restored your design. Minor design tweaks made it the way I want. Thank you for the design. :) --!!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Soumyasch (talkcontribs) 00:16, 8 April 2007 (UTC).
You are welcome. I have no probs with the design - in fact I quite like it - except that the previous versions made accessing the most used links more tiresome. I am absolutely fine with what is there now. Good job on the design. Its really appreciated. --soum (0_o) 00:35, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey, dont move the WorkBench. I need the links handy, and dont like to click a link, go to a subpage to access them. --soum (0_o) 01:04, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

here is a trick when using images on navigation bars. if you use the special {{click}} template, when you click on those images, they will direct you to a page that is not on the image namespace. — zero » 01:57, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
You may use the {{click}} template for images on your header. For example, click on this image and it will direct you to your userpage.

[edit] Image Replacement

I don't want to report you to the administrators, which I believe has happened before, but please don't replace images which already represent an element within Microsoft Windows with new images with non-standard elements. If you want to replace these files, please use basic elements of the OS you are using, such as the default style for Windows Aero Glass and the Green background in Windows Vista, or the Luna (theme) with Bliss (image) in Windows XP. Thank you and please pay attention to each of us who have tried to advise you to do this. Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 02:10, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: Image:Windows Genuine Advantage Notification.png in Windows XP article (from Warrens)

I reverted again -- now, I putted the {{CartoonNetworkImageTag}} license tag because the Codename: Kids Next Door cartoon (founded on the Desktop background) is produced from Cartoon Network. So please keep this new image as is. If you reverted it again, tell me to my talk page why you revert a second time. Jigs41793 (Talk) (Contribs) 12:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm having to stop to revert to the themodernizer's version - but now, can you PLEASE revert to my version and keep it! Jigs41793 Contact me 23:20, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Excuse me but you can not revert images made by themodernizer and overwrite them with your images. themodernizer is trying to provide images for consensus among articles; however, your images are deemed inappropriate to Wikipedia and if you continue, you may find yourself unable to contribute further to the encyclopedia; otherwise, I will report you to the administrator. tz (talk · contribs) 04:55:57, Saturday, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Violence_Poster.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Violence_Poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigrTex 23:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:KNDComic_-_OpBASSBOMB.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:KNDComic_-_OpBASSBOMB.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:17, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Long Signature Code

When you hit edit, you can see your signature code is long. There is a way to solve this. First, put your code on your own page, like User:Jigs41793/Signature. Then, make a page using that as a template, like putting User:Jigs41793/Signature on User:Jigs41793/Sig. Then, in Preferences, put in User:Jigs41793/Sig as your signature and check the Raw Signature box. That will do it.

[edit] Image:Tom_Warburton.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tom_Warburton.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 17:32, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
