Jesse Vasquez

Jesse Vasquez was a character in the popular FOX TV series Beverly Hills 90210. He was portrayed by actor Mark Damon Espinoza.

Jesse was a law student at UCLA and also worked part-time as a bartender for catered events. It was at one such event (the 20th anniversary party for Jim and Cindy Walsh) where he met Andrea Zuckerman. The two began dating, and Andrea soon found out she was pregnant. She initially planned to have an abortion, but she changed her mind, and she and Jesse were married in a civil ceremony. Their daughter, Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez, was born two months premature but survived.

Jesse and Andrea's marriage experiences difficulties, centering mainly around the religious divide between Jewish Andrea and Catholic Jesse as well as the crushing hours involved in balancing work, school and raising a baby girl, and they both end up committing adultery--Andrea by having an ongoing affair with a pre-med student named Peter, and Jesse by having a one-night stand with a fellow law clerk while out of town. They separated briefly and considered divorce, but they decided to work things out. Jesse later received a clerkship at Yale Law School and, after getting Andrea acceptance into Yale's pre-med program, the family moved to Connecticut.

In 1998, Andrea reappeared in Beverly Hills, when she told her friends that she and Jesse were getting divorced.
