Jeff Tambellini (born April 13, 1984, in Port Moody, British Columbia) is a professional hockey player for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He played college hockey for the University of Michigan and was named Alternate Captain of the team before being drafted in the first-round (27th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. On March 8, 2006, Jeff was traded, along with Denis Grebeshkov, to the New York Islanders, in exchange for Mark Parrish and Brent Sopel.
Starting with his first pro season in 2005-06, Tambellini has split time between the AHL and his NHL club, playing a high of 31 games with the Islanders in 2007-08. During that season he also secured Bridgeport Sound Tigers' single-season scoring record with 76 points in 57 games.
His father, Steve Tambellini, also played in the NHL as a member of the Islanders.
