Jean du Cros

His eminence Jean du Cros (died 21st November 1383) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was bishop of Limoges in France (1347-1371).
He was made cardinal-priest of SS. Nereo e Achilleo on May 30, 1371[1] by his uncle, Pope Gregory XI. Then, he became grand penitentiary (1373) and cardinal-bishop of Palestrina (September 28, 1376). Initially, he supported the election of Pope Urban VI in April 1378, but shortly thereafter, he adhered to the obedience of Antipope Clement VII and served as his legate in France. He died in Avignon.[1]
